1675 GMT Question
Hi guys!
Noobie to this forum, so please pardon me if I'm putting this in the wrong place or asking an inappropriate question. I'm interested to know what you guys think of this ref 1675 GMT II. According to the seller, the serial number is 8xx,xxx dating it to 1961. The date wheel has the open 6/9 and the case has the printed crown guards, but I'm not sure about the dial and the hands. From what little I know, it should say only Swiss at the bottom and the hour hand should have the smaller red triangle. Also the seller says it's a gilt dial in the title but then says matte in the description. Looks matte to me, but I'm not 100% sure that's it's not just an aged gilt. I love the patina on the insert. Thoughts? |

For more info, the seller is Beacon Hill Jewelry on eBay. Here's the link:

1675 GMT Question
Insert is fake
I'll let more qualified members comment on the watch. It's a purported PCG, so dial is at least later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Search this section and Buyers/Sellers section for Beacon Hill. A load of trouble.

PCG 1675s are the most common "passable" fakes.
I don't like this watch. "Aged" insert smells fishy. |

Thanks guys. I just read up on Beacon Hill Jewelers, and all I can say is wow. There's a seller to stay away from! Sorry for wasting people's time, but I appreciate the feedback.

Just for my own education, am I correct that (in addition to the fake insert) it's the wrong dial and wrong 24 hour hand for a 1961 ref 1675?

Can I bother you guys for opinions on two others -- these are two-tone 1675s:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282198408077...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (This one is from a seller that seems to have a good reputation with this forum, Ermitage Jewelers) And: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201669818269...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT (seller is EmpireTimeNYC, who I can't find any info about. The jubilee band looks to be an aftermarket add) Should I start a separate thread? Do longtime members hate these types of questions? |

Dude, stop with the eBay gambling and buy from a trusted seller on this forum. There's plenty of these watches genuine here. Jacek is a good vintage seller from whom I've bought 2.

Springer on this forum sells a ton of vintage GMT; he's our resident guru. Maybe consider buying one from him?

Crap. I wish I read this post before. I bought a vintage Omega SM300 (big triangle) from Beacon Hill Jewelers about 2 weeks ago:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282223800013...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I received the watch (finally, it took Beacon Hill Jewelers forever to ship it). The watch looks genuine. However, there's no way this watch was serviced recently. The movement has some dirt on it, it's very difficult to set the time, and I can't wind the watch using the crown. The bezel stem is also missing. I opened a case on eBay. Let's see how things go. |
