nice but the crown has been replaced (twinlock originally) - everything patina's together nicely which is key
possibly the insert has been replaced too

Yes about the crown I dont mind it, the insert is a kissing 40 should be long five?
What about the case?

I don't know if I've ever seen an unpolished case on a MF vintage 5513. Mine is a 1967 polished a bit and also has had the crown/tube changed out to a triplock, not by my choice, trust me. I'm pretty sure mine has the original insert as I got it from the original owner and he did absolutely nothing towards maintaining it or repairing and the 4 doesn't exactly "kiss" but I don't know if that is something to wonder about.

I would question the claim of unpolished. It is a beautiful example otherwise. If it is the right price for you it seems like a decent one to wear. The bracelet will give you a good excuse to pick up a 1680 and put a rivet on the 5513.

The case looks strong, but "unpolished" is a high threshold for a watch with a decent amount of wear. The clasp, however, has lost almost all its crispness.

The case, while definitely having seen some mileage, looks pretty great to me. Incidentally, I've dealt with Philippe, at ExoticWatches, a number of times, and he's always been very attentive and a pleasure to work with.

Very nice watch and very strong case, but I don't think unpolished. The crown guards give it away. I would expect a more square look to the tops of the guards. They often get slightly rounded when polished, even lightly. Here's my unpolished (I think) 5512 from '72 as a comparison.

It's not the kissing 40, but a thicker mark 3 soft 4. The case is very strong with thick lugs n crown guards. It's hard to say if it's unpolished. Overall a very nice piece, except for the price. Man, when is the price gonna hit the ceiling on these vintage?

I blame it on the autoconnect.

This is terrific! Not only unpolished, but I think that your 5512 has never even been in the same room as a polishing wheel!! GREAT piece!
