Arsenal, Leicester good day!
I hope other members got to see Arsenal 'destroy' Newcastle today. My wife got kind of domestic today and decided to make blueberry pancakes--"-the first time in 20 years." I therefore asked my scouse buddy over to eat AND watch the Gunners. Even a die hard Liverpool fan had to concede the Arsenal were very very good. Not only that Leicester won and top Div' 3.
We invited the scouse and wife for fish and chips at Kelly's, Revere Beach tonight. A good day!

Yes it was a very good display especially after the miserable outing against Fulham. Nasri looks good even Eboue had a good game. Still think we need a bit more experience and am hoping Alsono gets signed before the transfer window closes. Enjoy your fish and chips

TR no game between those two this weekend, Man Utd played and lost to Zenith St Petersburg in the European super cup Friday, so they are not playing this week.
Internationals are coming up next so there is a break in Premiership games. Man U next game is a goody 13th September against Liverpool |

Man Yoo look shocking...that Danny (sp?) goal was hilarious...this will be the first year since Ince left Man Yoo that I won't be rooting for them. Their attitude of the Berba deal and the Ronaldo stuff is sickening.
I hope they come third or fourth this year. Chelski to win it...they will hammer my beloved Spurs today!!!!! J PS difference to Arsenal....Cesc. No fab...no success it's that simple! |

Nah nothing closet...It's just from the choise of the top four I'd rather see utd win the league (usually).
Arsenal...not a chance in hell. Would never, ever cheer them on. I admire the way they play football, but I don't see it that often as I would rather watch Corrie or Eastenders with the wife than watch the goons. Chelsea...another London club, can't support another London team and wouldn't support anybody who were pretty crap to be honest before all that money came in through the door. Plus, they have Terry who I wish would just retire and leave us all so much happier. Liverpool...How do they end up in the top four each year? They are crap! The football is boring and they miss so many chances. I'd love to see Villa knock em today and hopefully Barry will have a blinder!!!!! Man Utd....during the early mid 90's I hated them. The full of it years of Ince, Hughes etc, they were dirty whingers. I was so happy the year Blackburn took the title. When that lot left things got a little better and when Whinger arrived at the goons and they started looking like contenders, I had to cheer on Utd. No matter what, the Spurs come first, always have, always will! They are bloody useless and break my heart but I love them all the same. J |

Chelski are my favs for title but I dislike them on nearly every level. Their PR standing is nearly as good as Leeds. I think Man U will struggle to match the achievements of last year. Don't know what to think about Arsenal at the moment. Great potential but they need someone like Alsonso. Liverpool will struggle without Gerrard. The reason that these teams are in the top four is the lack of depth in the premiership of quality teams. The Spanish league have much greater strength in depth and IMO is a better all round competitive league. Granted the top two are nearly always the same but it is much closer just below and all their teams do well in Europe. Put on a few Madonna records and get your mojo back |

We keep hearing about Arsenal's potential...about 3 years now is it...almost as long as we've been banging on about finishing in the top 4!!!!!!!!!
I would love to see another team up there...Villa, Citeh, Everton or Spurs but the reality is it aint gonna happen. Nobody can buy the calibre of player required because these players want Champions League football. If we do get lucky and find a gem (berba?) their head is soon turned and they bugger off for the champs league. On that note I would have loved to have seen Liverpool deservedly crash out to S Liege...Keane went there for Champions League and fed us all the "Liverpool fan since a kid" bollux (funny seeing as in numerous interviews he stated he was a Celtic fan), I would have loved to see his dream shagged!!!!! Man Utd will struggle this year, Ronaldo has unsettled them and Berba won't help. The way Zenit's new boy waltzed through them all on Friday was worrying. Chelsea and DEco especially look like a true force to be reckoned with...perhaps this year they may go unbeaten...who knows!!!!! Spurs...with the new signings touted before tomorrow Diarra or Veloso, Corluka, Sergio Garcia and Milito....we will have an almost entire new team playing...I can't see anything other than 12th or 10th if we are lucky. COYS! J |

Love 'em or hate 'em Arsenal of the 'top 4' have the closest thing to a salary cap. I believe also they were just 5 points behind United last season. Not too far bad when you consider their mid season slump following the Eduardo disaster-- I remember a series of draws.
As a former Prem' neutral-being a Leicester fan....- I am impressed with Wenger and his approach to the game. His timing on the sales of Viera and Henry show a shrewd football mind. At their best [yesterday] they play beautiful football. Did any one else see Palacio's great goal for Boca against Arsenal [of Argentina] last week?

Pah I've always been behind him...I thought it was shocking that he didn't go to the world cup...he was top English scorer that season.
He's a quality forward, better suited to the big man up front and wily guy behind him role. He just needs his chance...with Keano and sulky there it wasn't gonna happen. Now with old Pavlova coming in I think he'll be back on the bench...shame, he had an awesome preseason. Bentley and Modric look a little lightweight though....be interesting to see how they get on...they remind me a little of Jenas (go missing for long spells). MOTM yesterday...Zok...one of my faves. In the right position he returns to his world cup form for the I.C...he's a legend...lol! COYS J PS Man Citeh have been bought out and lodged a 30mil plus bid for Berba...I hope he goes there to stick it to Man Yoo!!!! |
