Price for chipped glass??
I noticed this very small chip just below the 24 on the sapphire crystal. Would you even bother to get it replaced? Is it worth it? Do tiny chips get taken into consideration when selling? should I send to Rolex or buy crystal and get watchmaker to fit? Thanks

Personally, I would leave it be and perhaps have it replaced if/when you have the watch serviced. It's a pretty small chip and who knows... you might chip it again going forward.
If you do want to have it replaced, I think your best bet would be to locate a local authorized Rolex dealer with an in-house watchmaker or you can take it to an independent watchmaker who has a Rolex "parts account" and access to a genuine replacement crystal. Expect to pay $150-200. And yes, the chip will have a small effect on resale. Probably about the same loss of value as it would cost to have replaced. |

Thats the downside of sapphire they do chip on the edges I would wait until watch is serviced have it changed then. The crystal is not very expensive and as they have to strip the movement down no extra labour to fit new crystal. You should have seen my 1990s SD used a abused as a working tool for many years underwater. That had several chips and scratches on crystal before I had it serviced and crystal changed.

My 16570's crystal has an even bigger chip.. I purchased it with the chip but I'm definitely not doing anything about it until there are more of them. It makes it easier to use the watch, somehow. I'm not constantly worried about bumping it into something. If I were to sell it soon, I might have had it changed, but this one is a keeper for a while.
