Incoming!!!!!!! (S)

So for a few weeks I've been debating the trade of my 216570 for a watch for the wife and maybe something new for myself. Well, thus far I haven't been able to pull the trigger on letting it go because its my first and its the most stealth of the line. But seeing as we are celebrating our anniversary this weekend, I decided we would drop by my favorite AD yesterday to see what's what. Now my wife has tried on every Rolex in that boutiques case and has only ever flipped out over one. Not a diamond encrusted DJ or a RG YM, no...... her love? ......this little beauty....

A 34mm red grape OP. And I must say I'm overwhelmed by the beauty of its simplicity. Its just a great watch. And most importantly, she's happy with it....a little worried about banging it up, but loving that its hers......

Now anyone who read about my previous dilemma knew I was considering trading my Exp2 for a hulk, YM, or sd4k...... well I did none of the above. Instead, I walked into the AD and once I knew she was happy, walked over to the adjacent case and snagged this....

I wanted a dive watch....but couldn't bring myself to get a sub. I wanted something a little different. So, the last of my AD's ETA Black Bays became mine, and now that I have the ridiculous leather band off and the NATO on (the stiffness of the leather and pins led to at least 5MM scratches on the inside of the lugs), I have acquired the diver I wanted and the ultimate chill watch to add to my collection. We are both happy campers. Will the Exp get sold? Maybe. This process has actually made me appreciate just how perfect my BLNR is even more than I did before, so we will see. Anyway, thanks for reading......oh and she almost likes the OP as much as the giant blanket and silly honey dispenser I got her.

And the family.....I can't wait til my little ones want their own......

I'm going to try that with my wife and tell her I'm thinking of trading a watch, buy her one, then buy myself one, and not trade the watch I told her I would.
Tip of the hat to you sir.
The Black Bay, BLNR and Exp II are a killer trio.
Maybe swap your Black Exp II for a white polar one??
Then you get to "keep" your first under the radar Rolex and also add a color variety to the family

Hehe....it wasn't quite that sinister but at this moment everyone is happy. Oh and the key words are "might trade". And I still may but I had actually thought that if I keep it, I might have it swapped to a polar at its first/second service. But honestly, the gigantic delta in cost is why I was able to pull that off. Easier pill to swallow when she's getting the pricier piece.
