Panerai Ferrari 006 solid gold
Ok i know the Panerai community never took the ferrari models too well and to be honest the stainless steel versions with coloured dials didnt float my boat either...
And i know im asking this question on a Rolex forum.... asking for trouble/ Ive been offered a FER00006 in trade for my Daytona and $3k usd his way My daytona is a early(ish) one (pre rehaut with no box or papers) and the Panerai is a complete set except an aftermarket strap as the original was sweat stained. Ive had quite a few panerais over the years but the ferrari ones have never been a look in... however this one is solid gold and actually looks beautiful (in my opinion) Now they only made 300 of this model and if i can get my head around the "ferrari" badging on it im considering it.... however am i going to do my money on it? is only going to be resellable for the gold content in years to come or do we think it will have some collectibility?

Yeah I'm leaning towards no... I think the temptation of a hefty solid gold watch just got my attention lol!
I think I'd regret it after the fact

I think you answered your own question. You're right, the Ferrari Panerias never seem to have caught on in the Paneristi community. I'd pass.

I wouldn't want to pay much more than its weight in gold.

Unless you have a ferrari, no is the answer. The people who may buy that are also likely to be ferrari owners which are few and far between. Don't do it!

Unless you love it and plan to keep it forever then don't do it. As you are finding out you can't give one away later on.

No offence to Panerai fans but if I saw that I would not consider it a watch of significant value. The design is just wrong
