Welcome

That is a beauty! I've seen it in person and the photos don't do it justice. I'm not a Datejust fan--preferring the sport models--but the tuxedo dial is one that caught my eye.

Grace us with some photos once you get it.

I just saw one of these this weekend while I was getting my GMT IIc sized. The DJ you are going to buy is just amazing. Very classic with some serious style.

Thanks guys for the welcome. I picked up the SS DJ from the AD today however I don't get to wear it until I "receive" it for my birthday in one month time - how cruel is that!!!

Pics will come in a few weeks. Price was negotiated and paid in AUD - based on current exchange rate comes out at US$5,500 against MSRP US$6,400 (14% discount). I am surprised from other posts saying their AD does not discount on SS models. Purchasing a Rolex was truly a satisfying experience from visiting the ADs, putting some beautiful watches on my wrist and finally walking out the door with the knowledge that I am now the owner of a fine timepiece.

re: ADs not giving discounts on SS models, i think it is more applicable to the sports SS models.
