Great GTG with Arjan in Dubai

Arjan is in Dubai this week on holiday and we had the opportunity to meet at the Dubai Mall to talk watches and check out some of the more exotic fare along luxury watch row at the mall.

The hands down favorite was the Richard Mille carbon watch. It was extremely light (felt lighter than the band) and an amazing piece of technical craftsmanship. It definitely sang to Arjan, and at only 501K AED is attainable.

The RM titanium watch felt pretty good on the wrist too.

I was much more impressed with the watches in person. Pictures just don't capture them very well. Definitely something to put on my grail list.

If I understood the SA correctly, the carbon was #47 out of 50 made. Their price works out to be $137K US. The titanium was $55K US. And no chance of a discount.

The 030 you tried is not a popular piece generally speaking, but still gives a fairly good sense of RM workmanship.

Have a feeling there was a misquote on $55k from boutique...if they will sell you that new, go grab it.

Too bad you didn't try on the 011's...

Yes, RM has to be seen in person to really appreciate it IMHO.

Look like a fun mini GTG in Dubai! I've always wanted to visit, but have never had the chance to step out from airport transit. Some day...

Very cool! Thanks for sharing

I met Arjan at the beginning of this year, together with Paul (theVTCguy). It's great fun to meet members and share our love for watches.
