I reset my DSSD after returning from the Uk over Christmas and after just checking it's -4 since Dec 27th. -4 in 12 days is amazing.

Your watch is running fine. A handful of seconds either way won't hurt considering how many seconds there are in a day.

Very good.
If you lay it a different way, you may find it won't loose as much or loose a bit more.
All mine, laying dial up, will gain slightly overnight.
Crown down or up lets them loose a tiny bit they may have gained in the day.

Why did you do That?
Now you'll have to make up those 4 seconds...

You have an extremely impressively regulated movement there.

I love that Rolex spec is now +/-2 sec per day, I think any watch that runs within 2 is a really excellent performer.

Your watch at +0.5 or so is outstanding!

I have a recently acquired Datejust from '99 that was recently serviced and after 25 days or so it's at +3....I've never had a watch this accurate before. Modern Rolex movements ar amazing!

Well seeing there are 86400 second in a day I would say you have a outstanding accurate mechanical movement watch, but please dont get to anal about a few seconds either way.

The new Rolex spec is a Average -2+2 seconds at time of testing this do not mean it will perform exactly the same every day for life. All mechanical movements will need some regulation in there long life. But movements are still tested at the COSC to average -4+6 seconds to get the chronometer certification. When movements are shipped back to Rolex then stored till needed and matched to a case.Rolex then regulates to this new spec on a machine. What does this mean at time of testing movement met said spec, but truth be told all the Rolex movements since the 15 series could when regulated correctly match this new marketing spec.

UPDATE,
DSSD last set Dec 27, 30 days later it's 0 secs fast or slow!
I have been leaving it flat, crown up and crown down whichever was appropriate at night to keep it at zero. Definately the most accurate and consistant auto I've had.

Nice isn't it. But you can manipulate it as much as you want by carefully choosing the resting position of your watch.

Send it in. It sounds like it is failing to sync with the atomic clock overnight. You might have a short in the antenna.
