Height difference between Sub, SD4k, and the DSSD

I saw this and thought it might clarify that the SD4k has a case that is larger, not just the entire height but the actual case, than a GMT II, or a SubMariner..

And that the lugs re in face thinner...

And of course an emoji that doesn't get used that often... :

The Sub C lugs are by far the wides of the bunch, although its the smallest watch of the bunch.

That is a really great reference photo and is exactly what I was looking for awhile ago when considering "upgrading" my 116610LN for the 116600. I'm sure it will be a great help to others. Thanks for posting.

Crown guards are interesting too. The SD4K seem to have a much more semi-circular profile vs. the 116610 almost seem to "slope" down, and are a little more asymmetrical...now that might be because it's been polished or something, hard to know for sure.

Neat shot. I still prefer the height of the sd over the fat lugs of the subc.

from net and same article,. I pondered over these pics for months and even after deciding.on an SD4K changed my mind after trying one on. It wears to me too close to an original Sub' and combined with the short stubby lugs felt small. For me it wasn't enough of a departure from my Submariner so went with the DeepSea which always photographs huge but in reality is not. If they put a maxi case on the Sea-Dweller with a bit of red writing it may be more appealing.

Great shots! I find myself searching for case thickness all the time, this makes it easier to compare in real life. Anyone else care about case thickness a little too much?

i think the hottest debated topic is the sub c's lugs. people just cant stand them. i dont really mind them at all.

Not up to 16mm but over that it is a factor for me. I'm really interested in the DB but will have to decide if it is too thick for me now. It's funny how things change, a few years ago I did this side by side with my DSSD and my then new Subc and the Subc felt wrong, like the little girl's watch.

The DSSD has the widest lugs of the three.

One of the great things about our fascination with these objects is how our tastes and preferences change!
