That's not fooling anyone!

I've been catching up on watching 'The Blacklist' and I believe it has been noted how 'Red' wears a nice GMT Master on a jubilee (IIRC). However, I was watching an episode from Season 2 (Ep 21 I think) and saw this!

Wow that's bad!

I know - there are no brand markings at all. But for those of us in the know, it's a blatant copy of the Exp II. Why not use any other generic Watch?

Granted, 99% of people would not notice, or even care. Just something I noticed and found interesting.

These things usually happen when Rolex, car manufacturers and etc. do not agree to sponsor films or TV series. Few times I saw when car brands are hidden. It is quite bizzare to see that actors drive in Mercedes Benz SUV's but there is no MB brand tag.

In this case it would be better if Red does not wear any watch comparing to this "thing".

Maybe that's what happened here, they covered up the branding on the dial. It's obviously a genuine Rolex - the cyclops is weak! 🤣

They wanted money to show Rolex on tv. Now that they havent got it, theyre gonna show that watch several times just to show the brand what they are losing.

Just kidding

I've only seen like the first half of the pilot, so I'm not sure who Red is. If he's the bad guy, then it's also possible that they hide the brand(s) so that they don't get sued for associating the "good" brand with the "bad" guy.

He's actually the good guy just with a different approach to moral ethics.

It looks like he wears a Pepsi on the show as well. Fantastic series... Spader is the man, huge fan of everything he's done.

How would you explain the magnification on the watch?

Red wasn't actually wearing this watch (maybe should've been clearer in the OP) but it is on the wrist of a 'baddie'! I haven't (yet) seen a good close up of Reddingtons watch, but I would assume that he's meant to be filthy rich, I would hope it was real!

Anyway, this watch I think at least had an automatic movement, though it was a very slow 'tick'

It's not that much different to loads of watches I see people wear that are styled on the Rolex line-up.

The other day I was sat opposite a guy and thought he had a yacht master on. I got closer and realised it was an entirely different brand but it looked so close to the Rolex version.
