Gold Oyster New Style Heavy Band

I have seen a few sites suggesting a 30% weight difference in bands. These sites refer to the new bands as a New Style Heavy Band.

I know this is the case with the President Bands, but I didn't know it was the case with Oyster Bands.

I'm thinking of getting an 2010 Everose Daytona and I want to know if this would come with the new style heavy band.

I don't know about 30% heavier but I have handled the 116610 next to the 16610 and you definitely notice a more solid feel to the newer models. They are definitely heavier.

Correction, it's a 2008 Everose Daytona 116505.

"New style heavy band"?... For a long time the links were hollow gold, now they're solid. It's not a "heavy band", it's just the company finally doing things the right way with their gold bracelets. With the hollow gold bracelets you're susceptible to having the bracelet "stretch". Why would you want that?

I'm not doubting that the recent bracelets are solid, nor am I questioning if they're better, I'm asking when Rolex switched the 116505 to solid link bracelets. If the 2008 Daytona I'm considering doesn't have solid links, I might reconsider the decision to purchase it.
