Advice on AP purchase.
I've 12,000$ to,spend on a new watch. I really like the 39mm steel white face gentra designed royal oak. Davidsw has a gorgeous one now. I am wondering about resale, though, resale IS. Factor to me. Is the 39 ambetter or worse seller than the 41? If you had 12k to spend on a sports watch, which AP would you choose.. I like the white dial AP MODEL.. his, price is higher than 12k, I know, but could stretch my budget to 14 max for,the right pied. I'd just rather not. I,welcome seller advice too. There is no authorized dealer near me, not even within 400 miles. https://davidsw.com/product/audemars...silver-dial-3/ Is the model at which I'm looking.

15300 should be safe resale wise, but who knows. Buy it if you like it. Worst case you will lose a couple grand would be my guess.

May want to consider whether it is still under warranty. If it needs work it could be expensive. For that price you can get a new 15400.

To me, it boils down to whether you like / want the 15300 over the 15400 and whether you can justify the premium for that model.

15300 has been pretty solid. Have you considered the 15450? Could get that new close to your budget.

^ this. The 15450 wears much bigger than 37mm. Good bang for the buck in your case

Thanks for the responses. Because I don't have an AD too,close.. I'll have to find someone online I can trust. Buying pre owned wouldn't be my first choice.

The 15450 is a good choice for A. smaller wrists and B. 12K budget -- but not C. resale. I don't think the 37mm Royal Oak will be great for resale, especially compared to the 15300.
Personally, I would buy the 15450 over the 15300. |

I believe there is a white/silver 15450 for sale on the forum here. Think it's somewhere around $11,500 actually. Can't remember the user but know it's been listed for a while.. do a search and you'll find it

I've found AP to be rock solid for keeping value so long as you have a complete and papered package. It also never hurts to know when the watch was last serviced. When I sold my black themes the top question was about service history. I wore that watch almost every day for a year and broke even.
EDIT: Clearwater is amazing at letting you know when/if the watch has been sent in. Write them with the serial/edition numbers and some pictures of the watch and they should fill you in. |

I think that watch has been sold...
But, it's a beauty none the less and will hold it's value...they're in demand. Cheers and good luck. |

Obviously it is very personal: For me, I like the 39mm size, but I don't like the white dial version. I think the particular waffle pattern works best with the blue dial.
Good luck! |

I still haven’t gott n an AP.. prices are a bit nutty now. David saw had a 39 mm white dial that flew off his site. I still welcome feedback from owners of AP. 40mm is my ideal size. Thank you. It’s not that I’ve not been looking... it’s the market is high.

15400 wears larger than 41mm because of the lug design.
Great watch. I have a 7.25” wrist for reference.

I tried on a 41 mm.. it’s just too big. The lugs hang over the wrist. It’s a shame but at least I know. I might someday grab a 39mm.. my wrists are small.

They’re both trading rather high right now. Not that long ago a used 15400 was selling in the low 11’s range and 15300 were just a tad higher. So I’m not entirely sure either are greet picks from an investment standpoint.
That being said they’re both great watches. The decision in my mind comes down to size and age. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
