Has there ever been a solid Pt bezel on a yachtmaster?

I always thought the insert was platinum, and the bezel was steel.

From what I understand the 16622 and 116622 Always had a platinum bezel and insert. I believe jocke did a tear down of a very early model a while ago and had confirmed the bezel was platinum. I have never heard that early ones had a steel bezel.

Yes I remember this before, I thought it might just be the insert but as it was the bezel entire, the price is actually pretty good considering the usual huge premiums for plat.

I still have doubts but after a statement like that you must have proof?

Do you have a Rolex link confirming this?

This question was already discussed here a couple of years ago. I have no proof I’m afraid other than Rolex’s description of the bezel in their website and catalogue (in the excerpt below they say "bezel", not "bezel insert") and also on what I was told at the boutique by a seasoned salesman, i.e. “the entire bezel is made of platinum, not just the insert”. I specifically raised the question when I was in the market for a 116622 platinum dial.

Jocke established that the whole bezel + insert are entirely made of platinum on the 16622, but this check was not done on the 116622 AFAIK.

Exerpt from webpage:

BEZEL

950 platinum bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated with raised numerals.
