Explorer 2 16570... tritium or no tritium

Hi everyone, new member here ... was considering picking up an explorer II 16570 and was curious people's opinions regarding getting older one with tritium markers vs later one with luminova (I assume). Looking at the 5 digit series bc of smaller size compared to current model. Thx for your opinions/advice!

the tritium markers and hands for sure give more character, but if you want practical functionality, i'd go for the luminova. either way you can't really lose.

It comes down to preference. Personally, I love the patina that can form on a tritium but others don't see the charm in it and prefer the newer luminova. Which one excites you?

I actually like my lume to work, so I went with a year 2000 16570, which has luminova, lug holes and SELs.

I love the creamy patina on a tritium dial, but I don't think it looks all that great on the 16570 (especially the Polar) for some reason. I think the Polar 16570 is one of the few watches that looks better with the rolexrolexrolex engraved rehaut.
