Help me ID this Rolex

Hello Friends.

I recently sold my explorer 2 and with a little more money bought a lovely lightly used GMT2 ceramic. This reignited my love of all things Rolex.

Deep within the recess of my safe is a Rolex that my dad had given me as a gift. He told me he owned it for almost 30 years. The band was badly stretched and after several attempts, it simply can not be fixed.

I have decided I want to wear it on occasion but would like to spruce it up. Perhaps a new face and a leather strap.

How about some recommendations. In addition the serial number is 1003635, can anyone tell me what year it was made? Updated after inspection.

If that's the serial # between the lugs then it's no good.

Where did you find that serial number?

On the case between the lugs there should be numbers. If those are the numbers not a good sign.

I have fixed the serial number. It seems it was made in 1963.

Now I just need opinions on a nice leather strap for it

I tried to take one and it is just not happening. The case is in perfect condition. Looks great. Watch runs and keeps time just fine. I have it serviced about 2 years ago.

I really just need a nice leather strap and I think its good to go.
