Steel Skydweller allocation discussion (nonprofessional vs professional series)

The skydweller has always been a nonprofessional model which puts it in the same lineup as the datejust. My AD recently told me that Rolex will be allocating around 75% nonprofessional vs 25% professional (which i think is the norm). Basically they can get as many datejust watches as they can sell. If the new Skydweller is a nonprofessional model then we can expect discounts to be slightly better as they will be more readily available. However, if they are allocated slowly like the professional pieces than we can expect them to retain value better and be selling at close to list price. I have asked my AD to discuss this with the Rolex rep at baselworld (they are there today). What do you guys think?

I heard that ratio from my AD last year, but have not heard anything yet on the skyd. I also wonder if they will keep the SS model in a limited supply to help close sales on PM pieces...just speculating.

I think I'll get one of the ss wg bezel for 12k or so, blue or white. Not paying retail on it.

One of the ADs I talked to already had 6 people in line for the blue dial model as of noon today. I have feeling there will be a long wait, and doubt they will be getting flooded with inventory. My name is on 20 or so lists, hopefully some of them pan out!

I heard someone say that the Previous GEneration Sky-D was top heavy, and that maybe the SS or Rolesium models may circumvent that...?

I don't think there's any difference in manufacturing costs. I believe it's a brand positioning strategy.
