How long before all models go to the 70 hour movement??
As per the title, how long do people suspect before all the models (within reason) go towards a 70 hour movement (3235).
The reason for my concern is that I have a deposit on a BLNR (my grail watch) and I didn't want to purchase it and a year later they release a new model with the new movement. Or as its a GMT movement will it be a long way off? Or am i just worrying?!?!?! Thanks in advance. |

I wouldn't be overly concerned, Rolex movements are bulletproof and the new ones just have an extra layer of armour. If you wear it all the time power reserve doesn't really matter to much.

while i appreciate 70+ hrs movements the reality is most would never notice as they are either one watch types or rotation types....
so really 48hr-70hr 120hr-8 day movements are just 'specs' its just spec hype like divers that go down past 300m |

10 years or less i would guess. I think the new movements are also a bit more "stable" so you can regulate it very close to 0 and it will stay there far better than any lever regulation and better than previous rolex models in terms of positional effects and etc.

I like an 8 day because it can be my weekend watch.

I highly doubt they'll migrate existing models to the new movement. Most likely, new watches will come out featuring the new movement as they slowly phase out existing lines (similar to the SD4k -> SD50th).

I think this is likely, not much point in annoying current owners esp of popular models with a seemingly better watch and movement.
