Uh no. Rolex is one of the most secretive companies out there. Part of the allure I suppose.

If you see our reactions every year on Basel day you'll know they would have to do so behind bullet proof glass.

I'm pretty confident judging from most of the wrist shots I've seen here that there aren't a lot of guys looking for a fight away from the safe confines of a keyboard.

Rolex is a privately owned/held corporation. There are no shares outstanding. They answer to NO ONE!

They are not a publicly traded comapny but they have shareholders.

They do what they do, and in my humble opinion, they do it well.

They have an annual meeting at their headquarters where they discuss whether or not people with a lot of posts on Internet forums will like their designs. A frequent topic discussed is how so many people know best how to design watches yet have no connection to the watch industry aside from a slick avatar and signature line. They recruit executives and department heads pretty heavily from TRF. The guy that runs Rolex passion report was offered a chance to be their CEO because of his photoshop skills. Apparently he turned it down. The minutes of this meeting are posted on their website.

How many shares does each shareholder have????? How about percent ownership? Who are the owners?

The reason I said no shares outstanding is because there are no public shares outstanding. A publicly known fact.

Shaking your head now? The SD hasn't been selling and wasn't a very popular watch - u expected them to keep it the way it is?! People often shake their heads at things they don't understand. But Rolex has been doing just fine for years and years without your input and I expect they'll continue to do the same. Don't like the new SD? Don't buy it, plenty of others will. It has everything lots of people want - larger size, red line text, satin dial, proportionate bracelet, new movement with 70hr power reserve.

One shareholder that owns 100%. The shareholder is the wilsdorf foundation.

I'd add the content of posts to my observation. I can't tell if you assume that I'm including you in that observation and feel the need to prove how tough you are (through your keyboard, no less) or if you have some sort of insider knowledge of a forum bully with dainty wrists going around fighting people over watch opinions. Either is equally absurd. But since you think they need bullet proof glass, I suppose you can make good on whatever fantasy you're cooking up over there. Have a nice weekend!

Sadly for you, Rolex doesn't have to justify anything they do or the decision making process behind it.
You are welcome to look around at other brands if you no longer identify with the direction they are taking.

From Wiki

..In 1919 Wilsdorf left England due to wartime taxes levied on luxury imports as well as to export duties on the silver and gold used for the watch cases driving costs too high and moved the company to Geneva, Switzerland, where it was established as the Rolex Watch Company. Its name was later changed to Montres Rolex, SA and finally Rolex, SA. Upon the death of his wife in 1944, Wilsdorf established the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, a private trust, in which he left all of his Rolex shares, making sure that some of the company's income would go to charity. Wilsdorf died in 1960; since then, the trust has owned and run the company. Rolex SA is owned by the private Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, which is registered as a charity and does not pay corporate income taxes..

Rolex is wholly owned by a charitable trust. All proceeds (income from sales) go into the trust and then are used to pay salaries, business expenses and support charities. All non-profit organizations work this way.
