Price Increase

Got a call from AD this afternoon. Appears that some of the professional series are going up in price Oct. first. I just purchased a SS Daytona and the retail is going from 9200.00 to 9925.00. The LV took a small increase as well.

It will be interesting to see if this true. This was posted by scott in another thread

Which way is it ?

Doesn't matter to me. I can't afford anything right now.

*sigh*

I guess they are still selling despite the market. Just means it will be longer until I can afford another.

If Rolex have any sense they will push the increase through ASAP.
As a business Rolex will be fairly recession proof and the price increase will only make their product more desirable. As fewer people will be able to afford it more people will aspire to own one.

Just called my AD, and they haven't heard anything. In the past couple of posts you've said you saw the list on one and that an AD called you on this one. Is it both or what?

One of my AD's just called and said that their Rolex rep told them October 1st there will be a price increase. He didn't know how much yet.

Talked to an AD in CT a few hours ago.

He had a YG black face daytona he wanted $18,200 for.

TO make his point he said rumors are there will be a price increase on Oct 1st on some models.

this of course is just rumor but he said his sources are reliable.

I checked other sites and $18K for a YG black face daytona seems very reasonable.. $9K off retail.

I called my AD. She said, oh, and checked the "New Book" that Rolex send them. There is a price increase. I didn't inquire if it was for the entire line as I was looking at a TT Bluesy later this year. It goes up from $9050 to $9300. I have till tomorrow, 9/30 to avoid the increase. I think I'll just wait till I AM READY (since I already have my Daytona). So I don't see any need to post the March 1, 2008 price list that I have a copy of.

Got the same call from my AD earlier, he didn't have specific new prices but he was just told by Rolex rep that price increase will occur Oct 1.

I went by the AD and looked at the new book that just arrived via Fed-ex. Unfortunately, the price increase is for real. No increase on most non professionals and increases on some professional models.

Thanks. Well, I've seen enough to say I think it's very real, and I'm very glad I didn't sell the Daytona over the weekend.

Is the Explorer II going up in price? What about the SS Sub? And what percentage?

However let's assumed there is a price increase of $725.00 to the $9200.00 current msrp. With tax, this would push the SS Daytona to $10.750K.

I honest think there will be not too many buyers willing to buy it at $12K+ from reseller (aka flipper).

Especially Not with DOW down 777 points today.

I just asked my AD and the VP said there is no price increase. This AD is a pretty big chain up North so I'm sure they would have heard something. Only one way to find out for sure, 28 hours and counting....

Either way I got my GV today, just have to wait for them to ship it. So I'm a happy camper

From what I am hearing its not going to be too hard to track down a Daytona

Rolex doesn't care what flippers sell them for. They care what Rolex sells them for, and they know good and well that flippers have been getting a premium for a very long time, regardless of the MSRP.

I have spoken or had email conversations with three very large Rolex ADs today( 2 are very good friends of a golf buddy of mine). None of them had received a notification from Rolex as of 5:00PM today. They were all unsure if 2 price increases in one year was even possible.
One expressed concern over a growing inventory and a nervous consumer, a condition they had never experienced.

I know Rolex doesn't care but consumer does.

$10 - 11 K premium is easier to swallow than 11K + - 12 K

If the economy was blooming, dollar value exceeded Euro, $2.00/gal gas, I could see $12K premium would have little impact but none of key variables mentions above are true.

Just call my 2 reliable sources...there will be a price increase...eventually.

But not Oct 1st.

Someone like to sell his Daytona fast...that is all.
