Sapphire Scratches - will they polish out..?

Evening

Recently I put a few very minor scratches in the glass on my Datejust - usual story can't see them at a glance but I know they are there..!

I took it in to my local AD they said it's not possible to polish the sapphire crystal - and a replacement at point of service was my only option.. It's not really due a service as I haven't long had one...also considering Datejust service now £500 plus cost of new Saphire - I was told couldn't just have glass replaced with out service either.

Just wondered if this is true or does anyone know if there is something I can buy in the UK to polish myself..?

Thanks

They should be able to just replace the crystal. I scratched my 114300 badly and its at RSC right now for a crystal replacement only, but it's only a year old.

Also try diamond paste or poly watch as many have had luck with rubbing out surface scratches with them. Good luck

It's $180US to replace a crystal during service. I'd just live with it until then.

There are products for polishing sapphire, but haven't tried them myself

Thanks Guys

I thought you must be able to get just the glass replaced rather than full service - has anyone seen / used similar polishing products in the Uk..?
