What's your favorite watch on a leather band?
I've recently been intrigued by watches on a leather band (or crocodile band). So I was wondering what's your favorite watch on a leather band (pics!)?It can be Rolex or another brand and doesn't necessarily have to come with one.
For me I'm pretty sure it's this (not my pic or watch)

116515LN... with an understandable bias. This reference now discontinued by rolex in favour of the oysterflex.

My all time favorite leather strap is a 20mm Safari leather nato with vintage look that I wear on my 20 year old polar white explorer 2.
I have a 21mm black leather nato for the 42mm Explorer 2 I like to wear, but nowhere near as much. Hands down, vintage safari nato - and the dang site has not had another for sale the past 2 years or i'd snatch up 2 more for the safe. |

I'm a Rolex guy through and through but I have never found a band that doesn't look good on my Speedy. I haven't had the bracelet on it in years.

For Rolex the RG Daytona. Otherwise the Lange Datograph, altho one of the things putting me off it is that the leather strap is quite slim and so makes the watch more top heavy, I'd prefer a thicker padded strap.

I like both of these on leather. Vastly different watches though. My DSSD Deep Blue is on SS, and I doubt I'll change that one. My white Daytona on order would look good on black leather, if it ever shows up.

Patek Calatrava. My wife surprised me with it on my birthday while on a trip to London. It's simple, just hours and minutes with the cobblestone bezel. The 18ct contrasts well with the dark brown croc band.

I think some of the gold Daytonas look great on leather, which I'm not typically a big fan of leather bands.

Pilot watches, in general, look great on leather straps. In the Rolex lineup, I personally like the Explorer or an old vintage Datejust on leather. The simpler the watch, the better.

Some real beauties here, the Daytonas, the Lange, Nomos. This one is my favorite, followed closely, believe it or not, by my Shinola!! No, really, it's a nice watch.
