New Professional Model Prices...
With all the talk about the Rolex price increase yesterday, I decided to go down to my local AD after work and see what the prices would be. My salesman was more than helpful with me and I found out the following prices:
Submariner: $5450 SS Submariner Date: $6000 Sea-Dweller: $6400 Anniversary Submariner: $6400 TT Submariner: $9300 SS GMT Master II C: $7000 TT GMT Master II C: 10350 Explorer: $5050 Explorer II: $5925 Deepsea: $9250 PLAT Yachtmaster: $9450 Milgauss: $6200 Milgauss Green XTL: $6575 SS Daytona: $9925 I thought I took good notes, but please forgive me in advance if there are any discrepancies.

From what I read yesterday from our British members, prices in the UK seemed to have gone up 12.5%. It looked like it was across the board, but I'm sure specifics will be coming in any day now. It looked like Rolex was trying to even up prices between all the currencies in the world.

No problem.
If members from the UK, EU, Hong Kong and Dubai could post similiar price lists, we would have an accurate world view. Everyone could use this as a reference to know where in the world the best prices are given current exchange rates.

Until a few weeks ago when the Aussie $ tanked against the US$, we had nearly reached parity ($0.98)... so a GMTIIc was US$6850 = AU$6990, and the AD price here was AY$8850, so it was nearly $2000 cheaper to buy in the states..
I had even planned a holiday to Hawaii to get mine.. but I ended up getting it here last week instead... but that's another long story which is on another post... Yes, new prices probably trying to even things up a bit. Spoke to my AD here, no price rises in the pipeline

Wow price of ss daytona has increased 25% this year alone. (from $7900 to $9925). Better than stock market or bank interest.

I just put fingers to keyboard and my calculator says that we can have one of each of these for a mere $103,275.00 plus tax! This would be a great starter Rolex collection!

Ouch!
I had second thouhts about the LV over the weekend and decided Sunday that I wanted it and even got a blessing from my wife to do it.
With these new prices??? No way. What they are asking for a 16610 makes me feel even better than I already did about what I payed for the LNIB sub I purchased a year ago. Think I will keep my trusty sub and the massive Ball aviator I purchased on Saturday as my 'Panerai" substitute which frankly is a great watch in it's own right and the more I wear it I can't tell the difference between the Ball and the Panny. Call me crazy..... Bottom line, I am still into both watches for less that the cost of a new 14060M. Something to be said for that. |

Thanks Chris! Interesting the Milgauss did not go up in price (shocking!) but the rest of the sport line did. I told my wife about the new Daytona price and she asked me why I didn't buy more of them when I got mine for $6,800 a few years back She quickly did the math and said "that would have been a better return than our stocks"....I guess she finally gets it! Maybe she will listen next time I tell her I need to buy another watch!

This is helpful. Thank you. Interesting that the MG prices stayed the same. Daytona jump was actually pretty good considereing that I have heard few stories of AD's willing to discount...
