Is this a scam? Fake DavidSW
Hey All,
I posted a WTB ad in the forum. Since then I have received this email with a Rolex Watch offer: Hello, I'm David, Here in my office is a nice watch for sale and i wish to ask if you are interested in buying of them. So get back to me soon and i will get all information of the watch to you. Thanks David S-Williams Email: [email protected] www.davidsw.com Visit us in person at: 8015 Turkey Lake Rd. Suite 500 Orlando, FL The email has an extra 'i' in it as opposed to [email protected] - safe to assume it is a fake/scam? |

Looks like a scam to me. Easiest way to find out would be to email david (obviously you know his real email) and ask him about it. Assuming it is in fact someone posing as David, I'm sure he'd appreciate the heads up.

Of course it's a scam. The crappy English is an instant red flag.

I do not understand why top dealers do not use their own domain as their email, instead they use Gmail or similar and that opens space for this kind of fraud.

Not just watch dealers. I never have understood how people think a gmail, Hotmail, yahoo, etc email address is ok to use in business. Here is a secret; it isn't.

This scammer (with that email address) has been at it for quite some time...I had been contacted at the end of 2016, so made sure to let David know then. Seems like a perpetual scammer.

Not him, that's not his email address and David never solicts directly for business. Just posts some of his watches for sale here.
