3135 vs 3235 movement

Is the 3235 movement going to replace the 3135 in the sub, dssd, yachtmaster etc or will Rolex not switch out a movement until they update the entire watch?

Over time probably !

Will Rolex not switch out a movement until they update the entire watch ?

Not necessarily (only Rolex know).

And is the main difference the power reserve ?

The 3135 is well proven, robust, reliable, stable and accurate.
Rest in millions of Rolex watches through decades, will outlast me.
For that matter, 3235 needs to prove itself with deep shoes to fill.

3235 is the future, it is just a matter of time when it will swap out 3135.

3135 has done its job and is one of the finest workhorses in the industry.

3135 is, if not the best, one of the best two (?) 3-hand date movements in history.

I don't wear single watch over 2 days and the longer power reserve doesn't matter to me!!
