How can you not but love the chronometer version of the classic no-date Sub? In this case, the rare Mk1 maxi dial that was produced for about one year ending in 1977.
Recently I took mine off its bracelet to try something new and started wearing it on a vintage leather strap. I can't get enough of it. Here's what she looks like. Enjoy.... |

Couldn't agree more. Beautiful example!
The 5513 is great, of course, but there's something very special about the 5512. It's my favorite in my humble collection. |

I wear my meters first 5512 a lot. Wish I had a decent bezel insert for it but at least this one has character

Thanks cowboy music!
I know, right? Thank you!!!! Thanks Al! It's the original insert I'm told. Quote:
Thanks Thomas! Thank you Brian! OK then. A "10" she is! Thank you! Thanks Ken! That's high compliments coming from you. BTW, IIRC, don't you have a Mk1 as well? As we say in Hawaii, mahalo (thank you)! Quote:

Here is my very well cared for 5512 dating to 1972. I have a beautiful 1978 Maxi 5513 as well and cannot imagine ever selling off either of these staples in my modest collection....great watches!

Is this a “maxi dial” like yours?
