Icon5 Take a look into this warranty card

Look at this post on classifieds, go to last photo and take a look on the warranty card, very interesting, similar to something i have seen before.

Clever or naughty?

That could be their own "authenticity" card as listed on the ad? If so, pretty clever IMHO.

Never done any biz with the seller but when you're selling anything in NY you have to get as creative as you can.

Yes, for sure it is their own "authenticity" card, but should it look like an Rolex card? I find this toooo clever.

Very gray area (no pun) but if they're being forthcoming about what the card actually is and how irrelevant it is, I would take it with a grain of salt!

I will admit, I'm not a fan of the ads, Hot Deal, HOT, very Rick Flair ish - Wooo

credit card style. Looks like the same card you get at a driving range. I don't see it as looking like a Rolex Card. It clearly has the sellers logo on it.

Only thing I would change here is the wording in the description. I would simply say, "watch comes with our in house warranty and card (original rolex card not included)."

haha yeah exactly. All those plastic cards probably come from three different factories or something.

The sellers card has the word "brand" on it to indicate information, which could obviously be followed by and watch company and clearly implies their not trying to make it look like a rolex card. I don't blame the seller for not reinventing the warranty card.

I do think it's funny that the reference and watch "detail" are blurred out, and again, the seller probably should have simply said the watch does not come with the original card, but does come with the in house card.

Agree with above posts. They should clearly state that the warranty card is from the seller, not Rolex.

Me neither. It's a different color and doesn't have any Rolex branding on it. I've seen a few other sellers on eBay doing the same thing with their own branded cards

The card is fine, but the text is misleading. They say warranty card is included which implies it's Rolex's warranty card, they should specifically state it's an independent warranty.

And many today must have a full Rolex set as many say if makes it authentic. When in the real world boxes paper and the plastic warranty are far easier to fake than the watch.Myself cannot see anything wrong with the plastic card its nothing like the Rolex warranty card, it's just a bit of plastic with the watch details and retailers name on.

$6300 for a $4,000 watch should give it away.

5 digit YM? A dog.

6300? I'm dead.

That's very mis-leading and would fool people into thinking that's "papers" or official. A novice buyer would likely be fooled by that.

That's a bit harsh.

I personally think the 5 digit full size YM Plat/SS is a stunning watch and certainly not a "dog"

I also think $6300 is reasonable...possibly a bit of negotiation to do...no idea where you'd find one for $4k.

This watch would have paper certificate with that box. The card could be deceiving imo .

These are for sale all day for $5k-6k, full retail pricing (2nd hand retail).

No papers? You lose $1,000. Just like they would say if I tried to sell it to them.

Hard negotiation and cash is king. Someone wants the $ and not the dog.

Don't take it personal. People said my explorer 2 is the Dog of the line up.

Maybe it is? Probably not lol.

I don't own a YM so I don't take it personally.

And the seller is effectively a retailer so I don't think the price is miles off and may be up for negotiation. For me however, no original papers and I won't touch it, but that's just my preference.

Appreciate your point of view

It certainly seams intentionally deceptive, and their description is also intentionally vague. It is easy to see how someone could assume they were getting an authentic original card, if that's important to them. It's definitely important to a lot of people. Personally I'd rather have a new card from a factory service within the last 12-24 months than some old expired warranty card.
