My first rolex

I just picked up my first Rolex, reference 1024. It's a gold shell case with champagne dial. The serial number dates it to 1967.

It came freshly serviced.

Lol what's next... already?? Not on my mind just yet. I plan to enjoy this one. I'm on the hunt for a casual strap at the moment.

Thank you. The one time that my skinny wrists work to my advantage! Lol. Only 34mm case but it works.

I actually felt the same way (somewhat, I don't mind yellow gold but it's not my first choice). I pulled the trigger on it none the less!

Looks great! I have a 1601, its a two-tone but I wear it often with a clean brown band instead of the jubilee... Hodinkee has a good selection of bands at least for reference if they cost too much. If you care to kick down -a brown croc or clean leather it looks great with the gold.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks everyone! That photo is what sold it for me.

@Tom1675... I appreciate that, I will check it out! I'm thinking a brown leather strap, something that will age well with all the knicks and wear that gives it character.

Congratulations! That is a timeless classic.......and by timeless I don't mean dead watch, but rather in a metaphorical sense of the word. Lol, wear and enjoy it!

To know the future is to be trapped by it
