From my initial observations, it appears to have a counterfeit Submariner back plate
(16610) along with the engraved script, a counterfeit band and movement. Not a bad "knockoff" from the far eastern shores.

I have taken the liberty of making it my mission to see this watch disappear. It is ghastly.

The first obvious error is that the "V" portion of the M in Master goes all the way down to the baseline. Many counterfeits have this flaw, no need to look further. A correct YM dial is shown below, note the difference in the M font. And it isn't faded out..

From all the fakes I've seen, the Platty is one of the easiest to spot out. They can never get the right shade/texture for the dial. Platinum has that unique look. I love it when they have black dials too.
The same is true for the bezel. A genuine sand blasted Platinum bezel is easy to seperate from a fakies.

Dial texture, colouring and font all worked out. Superlumed as well. And the Bezel is identical as well in Texture, colour under all light conditions. |

ps. Additional info. The source of this highly sought after batch is coming from Thailand. Over a year to make (from commissioning to authentic YM purchase, to setting up and getting Gen parts, then to dissassemble and research and test various metal combinations). and about 100 units currently NOT spoken for before the factory worker/makers are commissioned by the next Scammer to produce more units.
I have an idea that some vile unscrupulous "Dealer" would love to get their hands on this particular item to pull the bait-and-switch tactic on the right type of client. ie. Those seniors or wealthy types that have no idea about what to look for or where to send to if a problem occurs, and of course EBAY Buyers. This is the highest grade labelled to date. Quadruple A grade (1). ie. if anyone knows the Grading system used in the fraudelent watch world used by Author Richard Brown. Once these start trickling into the system and is deemed "successful", the next piece being Reverse Engineered (by the same Criminal Scammer) is the Sea Dweller. |
