First Rolex; Some observations, questions
So I have wanted a Rolex for some time now, and have always been interested in them, and in anything mechanical really. Just got my first one, a white Milgauss from the forums here.
My first reaction was that I was extremely impressed. I couldn't stop staring at it. Albeit, it was initially a little smaller than I remember it being. By no means do I have large wrists (5'11" and 160lbs), but it just seemed a little too small. I am already looking at a second Rolex. I cannot decide, but have been narrowing it down. I really wanted a GMT I/II. The blue two tone is really growing on me too (Sub), but I am keeping an open mind. I also really like the look of the new 116710. I think one in black could go well with the white Milgauss. Two watches to go with everything, right? Any suggestions or advice for me? Also, any side by side comparisons in reference to the size of the Milgauss as well? Thanks! |

The new Air King with that funky dial would compliment your milgauss

I do like the new Airking. Which watch would go with NATO bands? I know the black 116710 would probably go with every color imaginable. I am trying to get two watches to essentially be my dailys to switch out between each other.
I like being unique and having something different (hence the Milgauss), but I keep going back and forth between the GMT and Sub. I just can't pick a color combo. Maybe that is why I am leaning towards neutral/black. |

Pick up the GMT in black. One of the best values on the pre-owned market right now. See how the Milgauss wears and how much wrist time it gets. If it does not work out I would pick up a Hulk and have a GMT and a Submariner with some color.

From memory the Milgauss wears a bit larger than the GMTC. That said the SubC will wear larger than the GMTC if that's your concern.
Both are great though |

First - Congrats!
I love the GMT. I think those two would cover you for all occasions AND, when the 'dazzle' of the milgauss subsides, you have a shiny GME with all the complications and features available. Short of the Daytona. Great Thinking! |

I appreciate the fact that you buy a watch because it is mechanical. So many people in the world buy a Rolex because of the name on the dial, they don't appreciate it as an amazing mechanical timepiece.

Yeah I think the best choice for me right now might be the 116710 in black. As much as I want all the other ones...hard to choose just two.
Not that age matters, but I am of the younger generation. I keep looking at vintage watches, but might save that for later on down the road. |

Go with the GMT for now and when you get the itch again, pull in the TT sub for a slamming collection of three.

First Rolex; Some observations, questions
I've never understood the idea of a watch as a companion to another. Are you going to wear them both at the same time? Unless you are Maradona - not likely. besides, he wears two of the same watch.
If you are asking which watch you should get to be as different to the one you have - for variety sake - OK. If you want something less shiny than your Millie, why not a watch with mostly brushed surfaces like a Sub or Speedy Pro? Something on a strap. Speedies go well on a black strap. A 5 serial Pepsi would also be a sports watch, but a bit more casual with the brushed oyster bracelet. |

if you want something a bit larger with the GMT function, you should check out the sky dweller https://www.rolex.com/watches/sky-dw...6934-0003.html
If too pricey, then the BLNR makes perfect. I keep going back and forth between these 2 watches but that's only because i am getting the SD43 and want something a bit more formal but with a GMT function |

You could go for a Sub. I prefer the Sub Date, but that is up to you. Some of our Trusted Sellers could get you a good deal on whatever you want. Just PM them.

Sub or GMT, the black dial will be totally different from what you have now and the GMT function is a nice option as well.

The Skydweller is interesting, but I think I am going to try to find a good deal on a black GMT. The contrast will do well to complement the white Millie. And no, I don't need a second watch. I'm just looking for an excuse to get a second one. I like a little variety as well.

GMT will look bigger as its black dialled with a black bezel. Great choice!

Well it seems the bug has hit me. I pulled the trigger on my second one already. How'd I do?
Black 116710 from 2012, light polish, and comes with everything. I went with a trusted seller on here. Hoping the wire goes through later on today. |
