16 Miles

Some of you know I am a pretty avid hiker in the mountains here in San Diego. Last year I finished the season with a 15 miler, this year my goal is to do 20. Started out with a plan for a 13 miler today, but it was such a beautiful day, I was feeling good, so went for 16; my personal all time high.

The picture does not do the absolute beauty of those mountains, but it was an incredible day and I am kind of proud of myself.

(Now where is the advil? )

Awesome! How much water for 16 miles? How did the feet hold up?

5 liters and great! Finally got the right combination of sock liner, cotten sock, and blister skin cover.

HIGHLY recommended I had ankle surgery years ago so need something with good support, at the same time light and comfortable. These are excellent. I have about 100 miles on my current pair and they are in great shape.

One thing to remember is always buy them a bigger size then you normally wear a shoe; (if you're going to be doing long-distance hiking). Your feet will swell up substantially! I misjudged the amount last time and paid the price!

Wow, well done Paul.

I do a lot of hiking in the UK but can assure you as spectacular as the Lake District / Wales are, the sun & sky NEVER look like that!

Very jealous!!
