Ro 15451st

Hi guys

Does anyone out here own a RO 15451?

Are you willing to share some wrist shots?

Also, are any of you able to guide me as to where i can find a list of the "boutique only" RO variants?

Thanks in advance

None of the current 15451 are "boutique only" to my knowledge. AP's website is usually pretty good at telling you which models are boutique only.

Here is the list according to AP... https://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/wa...-by=collection

Thanks for the link. I overlooked the obvious starting point in my search. I am told the "gray" is boutique only. Conflicts with the official webpage

I am considering between the 3 above; im afraid of the jumbo, i dont think i will use it as much or that it matches my attire. It is quite delicate too. My opinion is only based on my personal feeling, it does not take anything away from the masterpiece that the 15202 is. As you can see, i have very small wrists, so i really like the way the 37mm case fits. Please give your opinions on the model itself and color variant.

If it was me id go the jumbo and if you really want a 37mm would go with the 15450 with the new Ruthenium dial as I'm not a fan of diamond bezels. Im pretty sure thats the "advice" your going to get from most people here. But, its your watch and get which one you love.

I second this advice. I saw the 37mm ruthenium dial a few days ago and it was very nice! I liked the colour of the dial, it looks very different in real life than the pictures but definitely in a good way. That would be my pick if you didn't go for the jumbo.

I wonder why ive been told that the ruthenium dial is boutique only and very difficult to source, when AP do not list it as such. Any idea? Also, the ruthenium dial costs an 20% more than the black dial; im trying to make sense of all this.

it should cost the same for an apples to apples comparison. IE black 15400 vs ruthenium 15400 are the same price, same goes for 15450. Its newer than the black dial so there are not many around yet in AD's which may be why its currently harder to source. Unless you were comparing one with a diamond bezel to one without I have no idea why it would be more. The different dial colors for the same reference are always the same price as each other as far as i know. Secondary market is different though as blue would sell for more than black for example.

Tyler, do you think im missing the obvious advantages of going with the Jumbo?
I do get the feeling that the majority of forum members are not fans of the diamond bezel. I can understand that.

its the closest you can get to the original royal oak if that matters. Its proportions are also the best according to most and its ultra thin movement is excellent. Although, some don't like the lack of a seconds hand as you can't see the watch "moving" and it seems very static.

I do really like the 15450's as well, but they are too small for me.

also consider the jumbo is very, very hard to find and way more in demand than the others you are considering. I have never once seen one in the wild or a boutique actually in stock. If resale in the future is a possibility you are also better off with the jumbo. The others will take a pretty big hit when selling. If that isn't a concern, then obviously don't factor it into the decision. Watches are personal decisions, so get what you like best regardless of the prevailing opinions of the masses.

Its good to get advice on these things. Granted, the ultimate decision is mine, but i must be as informed as i can be. I wont be buying with intentions of selling, but you can never really tell what the future holds. One thing that put me off this particular Jumbo is a very very slight indentation on the bezel. It has probably come about from mishandling. Im not sure what impact, if any it will have on the price.

I got it; so supply and demand will determine the price on the grey market. That being said, from what ive read, you can pick up these pieces from the AP AD's with a reasonable discount to the retail price. It all makes sense now!

correct. Just do your homework as i would not buy grey market unless i could save really a lot of money or if it was a watch that was otherwise impossible to source. If the prices are close to an official AD the grey market isn't worth it as buying through official channels also comes with greater piece of mind.

top man! Thank you for taking the time to educate me. Im certainly relieved to finally understand whats going on with the pricing of these pieces. It definitely puts my mind at ease, as i felt i may be loosing out in the long run by choosing one variant over the other.

Okay, that out the way, next step is to decide which models are in the same price range and make a decision.
