ROO - stay/go? seeking opinions

after having decided that this should leave the stable (my taste recently transitioning more towards traditionally sized watches...as well as recent addition of the Jumbo), I'm now having seller's remorse before it's even sold!

this is a model that first caught my eye from a very far distance over 10yrs ago. i still remember the guy that was in a group meeting with me, i believe it was a G series blue/grey petite tapisserie with arabic numerals, the font was much rounder than on my themes (image below).

ever since then, it's a model that i always considered 'wow' - moreover, that i would never be in a position to own one myself.

fast forward over a decade, many other watches, brand, tastes (yes, was on the 'big watch' train back then, everything 42" or greater), and i feel lucky enough to be in a place on my life to have acquired one. and a beauty at that, i must say. couldn't ask for anything more.

but in past few years, tastes have changed, big watches now felt maybe too big. to push things over the edge even further, recently acquiring that damn Jumbo (god bless that piece!) just made my thoughts of the collection more complicated.

but good lord, i chased this watch for over a decade, and in less than a year I'm contemplating its departure...wtf

so to those who I'm sure have been/are in similar dilemma, any words of wisdom?

having the Jumbo and the ROO seemed like good bookends to the RO family, that was my logic of keeping.
and don't get me wrong, just looking at the ROO makes me smile... I'm sure it will continue to do so.

that said, it's 1of 3 chronos in the drawer, alongside JLC EWC (also a quite large piece) and Speedy Pro (which, although not as hefty as the ROO or EWC, i do consider it arguably as sporty and even more versatile to go formal dressy and casual).
and therefore, the counter logic was to trim down to just the Speedy as my one 'big' watch, that has the benefits of being a chrono, cam go dressy/casual, and has the historical presence to boot.

yes, first world problems no doubt.
but would be interesting hear others' POVs.
and if for nothing else, some good chatter.

I personally love the Black theme, so, I'd keep it. At 42mm, it's really not THAT big. Looks great on u too.

If you have the Jubmo now, and love the Speedmaster as much as you say, I'd sell the ROO. Gives you the $ and flexibility to try something else.

I loved the 42s as well but once the 44s were released they became the AP for me, so I can understand your feelings have changed... only mine has not to downsizing.

It's a nice piece but perhaps one of those where it is better until it's worn because it is cumbersome especially on a bracelet as well as not being versatile.

I'm in a similar position. I have a ROO Safari, I love the watch but hardly ever wear it, maybe ten times the last two years. I just prefer my Rolex, 116520, 16710 *3!, and a DeepSea Cameron. However i really like how it looks and cannot bring myself to sell it.

position of watch (past ulnar head, toward elbow) and angle of photo shot... amazing how different it makes the watch appear. and this is probably more representative of how i wear it... which, agreed, it looks well proportioned (than in previous shots). and a pleasure to wear when it looks like this:

keep it and get a rubber strap. it really looks great on the OEM AP rubber

Keep it. If a piece from your collection needs to go then I would get rid of the JLC before this one.

ya, unfortunately for the JLC EWC, this is very much a likely scenario.

I recently went through a similar evolution in taste. Also added a jumbo and couldn't be more satisfied with it. I let go of my ROO grey themes because I wasn't wearing it enough - it was starting to feel too big. I still love the way it looks but much prefer more traditionally sized watches now.

Go with your gut.
