Homages and straight out copying...

Can't believe companies can get away with straight out copies. Homages I can accept but this is I think too far. Thoughts?

Looks like a homage to me. If it does not say Rolex on the dial its not a fake.

They copied the trademarked 'superlative chronometer' wording and I'm sure they are not even chronometer certified at $199 price point!

Homages and straight out copying...

I didn't catch that! Good eye

Edit: I read the reviews gushing about "unique design" haha

This makes it a fake.

its a "fake"

Yep. AFAIK the term superlative chronometer is a trademark, owned by Rolex which would make the watch no longer an homage. No different than if they wrote "Rolex" on the dial or offered it on an Oysterflex strap.

I think these companies photoshop their logos onto a real Rolex stock photo. In the real world images it looks nothing like the first photo.

Not a fake, since it clearly isn't calling itself a Rolex. Pretty shameless, true, but that's how it goes. I think it's pretty funny that the watch images can't seem to decide if they're ripping off the modern maxi-case and dial, or the older versions.

Looks like a scam.

Most pics are stolen rolex photos with crappy photoshop on top to put their name.

There's one pic with a classic style case, another one of the new ceramic case.

looking at the watches on the site and they get zero points for originality lol!

I am however confused how they can say they are COSC certified? That to me is blatant false advertising

Not fake but a scam for sure, and would love to see real pics as for me that is a sub on which they photoshopped the logo...

Homage is a PC word. Every one knows "homage" is code for "I couldn't afford the real item". It screams volumes about the character of the person that would buy such a item. I would bet these type of people would change the branding on the dial if they could get away with it.

While this may not be too far off the mark in many case, I think the real life is a little more complex than that. I wear different watches according to different moods and situations. I enjoy my high-end pieces, but I still love wearing my Tisell sub homages which I don't need (or want) to pass for what they are not. They are just great beater watches that look great, perform solidly and can be worn with reckless abandon in any situation.
