Hi Guys,
What is everyone's experience regarding availability for this watch? My AD gave me a call to confirm one is incoming if I was interested. Unsure if this is the watch for me but wouldn't mind securing one to sell if there is limited availability. Thx. |

I'm pretty sure it's a normal production run watch that replaces the 40mm version.

I bought one last week. LOVE it. I'm in Omaha at the CWS and went ahead and brought my DSSD with me as well in case I wanted to swap them around. It hasn't come out of my bag yet.
As far as buying it to sell, I don't think they are trading at a high premium and I find that to be a shady thing to do. 1. you aren't a trusted seller here, so a trusted sellers watch would sell first. 2. Why not just let the watch go to the next guy on the list if it isn't for you after to go look at it and try it on in the store? |

Not sure. Message a dealer and ask them what they'd give you.

Agree strongly with both items 1 and 2 listed above. I have asked a local AD here to put me on the list for a SD43, and hoping to get a call sometime this year. The watch I have not seen in person or worn yet, so don't know how it will feel on my wrist. The idea of 50th anniversary appeals to me simply because it is my 50th birthday coming up, hence the interest in this watch. If I get the call, go in and see this watch is not for me, I will simply pass on it and the next lucky person with either a bigger wrist (or with a bigger interest in wearing a large watch on his/her small wrist) will end up getting the call from the AD. A friend of mine was visiting Canada and called me from there to tell me he has a chance to buy a Daytona C at about 15k-16k USD there, thinking about buying it and bringing it to US to sell. I persuaded him to not do this. I provided the same argument as item 1 above... the trusted seller pricing is not the same as private party seller pricing... there is a reason people deal with 'trusted' sellers. I told him that it would only be a good idea if he already had a friend/family person who trusts him asking him to buy the watch for them. He would have to lower his price vs. a trusted seller's price to find a random buyer.

I've talked to a few major ADs this weekend a 2 weeks ago, the sale persons all said the SD43 should be easily available once the initial demand are met and supply are not tight as the SS Daytona.
I'm not in a hurry and might pick up a pre-owned SD43 next year once the hype cool down. Obviously the SD43 big size and date magnifier isn't for everyone and at $11,300 it's not really an affordable watch. Not to mention if the economy goes south...of course the Swiss luxury watch industry has been slowing down significantly for the past few years. Looks like you looking for short term profit, then you may want to dump it as soon as you get it, since it's short term I would guess you pay for it by credit so another reason not to seat too long on it. Good luck with your investment |

I typically don't pay $11,300 for a watch that I'm unsure is for me.

If you do get it, I agree with the above posts that the window to flip it and make a little cash will be tight, and most likely diminish quickly.
Unless you really want it, I don't know if it's a good buy. Myself, I can't wait to get my hands on one. |

Great piece, no doubt. Reminds me of when the Milgauss GV was released - many paid way over list for that piece.

I actually passed when I was offered by my AD. I love the watch and its specs; however, after trying it on my wrist and it wasn't for me.
But kudos to all that purchased SD43! |

Availability of the SD43 in Canada and the US seems to be decent. What are people experiencing in other parts of the world? In Hong Kong the typical response I've had is "100 people on the waiting list and we're getting 1 piece per month"
