Incoming....Does my Rolex Match
Well not a new Rolex, but new truck incoming. Do I need a chocolate dial rose gold Datyona on Oysterflex to match?
In all seriousness, I'm curious to hear others thoughts on matching accessories to their watches and in practice how often you do. It seems it happens an awful lot around here. I'm from the mindset that I wear my watch, rather than it dictate what I wear. I'm a fan of effortless style where I wear my watch only because I want to wear a watch, not as an accessory. Heck, I'm even embarrassed to say I've seen Rolex owners wear their watches when they weren't running/wound (Yes, I know I couldn't believe it myself and it's a true story ) But is it important for you to match your watch to accessories or are you of the mindset that it is a tool watch and to be tool is cool This accessorizing seems to be a much larger concern to modern buyers/owners, more than I ever remember. What are your thoughts? |

It's a crossover, not a truck.

I've only matched with cufflinks, not clothes or shoes.

LN Sub goes with everything
I color match a little with clothes and dial colors. But mainly that is a good way for me to rotate them and wear them all. I generally match metals and belts and shoes. I am a little obsessive but not over the top. Never put any thought into whether my watch matches my car, interior, wallet, briefcase and those kinds of items. I agree it seems to be more prevalent now. Obviously those with larger collections have more options so some of the folks on the forums with many options may spend a little more time deciding how to use their collections. I wore an Sub LB as a daily from the late 80's thru the mid 90's. Wore suits back then. Black suit with blue Sub, Grey suit blue Sub, Taupe suit blue Sub...Not sure if I did not care, did not notice or maybe just because I did not have another choice, it removed thinking about it from me.

I have always dressed casually, never black or grey, basically every other color. I did build my watch collection around those factors though |

I am similar to droptopman and tend to coordinate the watch and clothes in order to rotate the collection. Everything I have is in white metal now so easy with the cuff links but straps always match belt and shoes and dial usually matches the suit.

Being a one-watch man, I am glad my 116520 goes with everything. Nice Range btw, how do you like it?

I also own the white 116520, which is just an amazing watch btw. So far liking the new L405 a lot. I still own a L322 Supercharged that is now moving to ocassional off-road duty. The 405 takes a bit getting used to if you are a LR traditionalist, but it really is just as capable if not more so. One day this one will move to off-road duty as well The new all-aluminum body is definitely noticeable. I like it, I think. The older Range Rovers just had such a tank like feel to them that is tough to beat. Electronics wise, huge upgrades for things like parking sensors, backup cameras, drive assist etc. IMO the P38 is like a 5513, the L322 the 16610, and L405 the 116610 All great and with their unique charms. |

You could also get a 116655 RoseGold YachtMaster.
That would be an awesome match

If Rolex changes it and adds end links on it to look closer to the way the Oysterflex Daytona's bracelet version does, I'd strongly consider for a next purchase. With calibre 3235 added, that iteration could move to the top of my list. |

Well, while you do not *need* it... it won't hurt now, would it?? You will lose a lot more on that truck in two years than you would on your rose gold Daytona in 20... so go for it!

Very true on both accounts. Enabling on TRF is one my favorite parts bc for some, reason I always feel guilty whenever I purchase a luxury item. I don't want to but I always do
