Hulk 116600LV Depreciation

Hi Rolex squad,

I'm new to the forums. Looking to purchase my first Rolex and i believe i've found the perfect model. It's the Hulk!!

My questions: im wondering when is the perfect time to buy it used? Will the price continue to slowly decline (Currently 9800CAD-11000CAD on Chrono24)? I need at least a year in order to save the money. But ideally i would like to wait a little longer. What do you guys think? Will they take it out of the lineup soon? Some of my friends think it might slowly go up in value within the next year or so.

Thanks

This isn't going to go down in the next year....not sure where you're seeing that the price is 'slowly declining'.

Been watching the LVc for a year now and its price is very stable. I dont see a decrease, if any they will go up naturally.

I think the price is stable.
My AD and David SW both said kinda hard to get still.
They are still high in demand...

Seem to be very stable ... A Trusted Seller might be a good way to buy money wise.

Agree. Stable given what info we have it's a safe buy 7500-8500 USD depending on condition. Used to brand spankin new.

It's been stable forever. Doubt it'll change much.

Most SS Rolex sport models hold their value pretty well despite regular usage.

I don't think it is depreciating much. Still very desirable. At the same time, if you want to buy a watch, you shouldn't care too much about depreciation right?

No real movement in prices in both the used and new market. I have found the Hulk to be solid when trading or selling.

For what it's worth, there seems to be a complete demand-supply mismatch for this watch in Hong Kong. Little to no stock with ADs and grey market new watches sell for USD9.5-10k. Used pieces are around 8k.

So far this thread isn't helping my desire to have a Hulk... Holding its value well is one of the main things I worry about (for whatever reason).

I concur. Sold mine a year or so ago, and prices really haven't moved much since. I see no reason for Rolex to discontinue it, since it still sells well. But not so well that prices will go up. Take your time, it will be fine.

Actually I think the price has gone up a little. I think I bought mine brand new from a TS for $7800-7900 almost 3 years ago. Can't remember exactly but I was definitely under $8k. I think it'd be hard to find one today brand new for under $8k.

A slight increase in market value would not be unusual for Rolex though, so I still consider that to be stable.

The LVc is stable, but some others are a not; BLNR and the 16610LV. The latter 5-digit has surged the last year.

I just want the best deal possible. It's an expensive luxury piece not an investment after all. That being said, it would be my only Rolex for a long time. I suppose prices will stay stable for the next couple of years?

Any new Rolex release can be hot for awhile but consider how long the LVc has been out and still in hot demand. That is saying something.

I've had my LVc since 2010 and saw it grow in popularity steadily since. A wonderful watch indeed. They still do come in on a steady basis, so just put your name on a waiting list at a nice AD. Expect to pay full price though unless you a great relationship with your AD already. It's worth the wait. Good luck. Cheers!

Weird that it seems like it is hard to get, a local AD by me has had one on display for months. I go in all the time to see what they have and it is always there.

How about trying for a couple good listings on Chrono24?

Thanks!

Its good that you are still at least a year out from your purchase. Gives you time to consider your options and get a great watch at the end of it. Good luck
