Which Daydate should i get?

My next watch is going to be a day date. I keep going back between the classic Daydate 36 champagne diamond dial and the Daydate 40 with the champagne diamond dial.

I have a 7.5 inch wrist. The 36mm really shows off that President bracelet and the Daydate 40 is more modern and makes a statement. Having trouble loading pics for some reason but will upload soon. Any feedback would be appreciated!

My choice was 36mm white dial with Romans.

Barry, you're in one of the best situations any Rolex fan would love to be. A Day-Date, the President of the Watches.

I recommend DD40, love the size... what's not to love? I like the Rose Gold DD40 because of my skin tone and it blends better.

Dial? I'm torn between Chocolate or the Olive.

Romans... if I (or when I) get a DD 40 it will be with Romans.

You can't get it wrong... Good luck!

I'd go with the Classic 36mm TT YG or WG Jubilee Fluted. Dial's and markers your call.

Tough call, though personally went with the 'modern look' 40 due to new movement and ceramic bits in the bracelet to avoid stretch. My wrist is 7.25" if this pic helps.

You have a large wrist, go with the DD40.

You might want to try a DDII, see how that feels/looks on you.

With your wrist size I would bet that if you end up buying a 36mm DD you will flip it for a 40mm very quickly.

The 36mm would look TINY on you.

This will give you a view of a 36 on same size wrist, I like the classical size in what i still consider a sporty dress watch

^ That picture is a zoomed in pic making the 36mm look much much larger than it is.

Put up a picture that shows the body more and you will see the real proportions.

DD40 for the movement and bracelet improvements alone.

Yes, the upgrades are worth it, including better PR. And the Baguettes are nicely done on the 40.

In the end get what YOU like and there is no wrong answer. For me it was the 36mm all the way and I have a 7.5 in wrist. My reasons were as follows:

Proportions looked better to me, although the DD40 is a huge improvement.

The President bracelet and fluted bezel provide a lot of visual mass, it doesn't need any more presence. Its also nice to see some of that beautiful president bracelet!

I appreciate the heritage, the original icon is 36mm and there is only one icon. Only one President.

This is all subjective /personal preference though and either way is a fantastic choice. Just try one on and buy what makes YOU smile. Don't let the 36mm size sway you, as I said this watch has a lot of presence. Mine is a five digit version so it even wears a little smaller than the six digit. A few pics of mine below on a 7.5 in wrist. Good luck, either way you are going to love it! Post pics!

The bracelet is what rolex themselves refer to as the president.

it is what's iconic. not the size.

40 for sure!

Agree about the bracelet but the original was 36 and still is 36. Version 2 was 41mm and version 3 is 40mm. All great choices but to me, anyway, there is the icon and then versions 2 and 3. This applies to the datejust as well. Again only my view, all wonderful watches and many congrats to anyone who is fortunate to own any one of them.

Difficult but the 36mm version seems to be the sweet spot. For me I would like the Ref. 118238, yellow gold President white dial with some nice lume on the batons.

40mm would probably be your best option!
