Finding back my stolen Rolex Sub D298928
Hi everyone,
I can't seem to find what to do about getting back my stolen sub D298928. Unfortunately I got mugged in downtown Brussels in 2012 and would like to see my sub back again. Of course I registred it at Rolex but maybe you guys have additional tips? Thanks, Kees |

I'm afraid I can't help with your request so feel free to ignore the rest of this post.
I'm not sure I'd want the watch back. You don't know where it's been, who's used it or how it's been treated. Furthermore, and this is entirely personal, I would not want to risk being reminded of an exceedingly unpleasant event every time I glance at my wrist. Of course simply writing of a few grand's worth of product is not something most people can easily afford to do so my opinion may be worth little... |

Welcome.
I don't think you'll ever find it, 5 years is a long time and it's long gone. Sorry to hear you were mugged and in Brussels of all places |

Check out the recent Hodinkee talking watches episode with Alton Brown.
He talks about having a watch stolen that he searched for for 20 years, and eventually found on e-bay. The watch was damaged over the years but he restored it and continues to enjoy it. Quote:

That's a little different because it was his father's.

I'm sorry to hear that. Set up a notification on eBay globally so that you are informed when new Rolex Submariner listings appear.

Sorry to hear, but how can you register your Rolex at Rolex? They don't hold a list with owners

You can register a serial number with Rolex as stolen. You can't register just to register. |
