116622 Questions

I thinking of buying a pre-owned Yacht-Master 116622 with a blue dial and have a few questions.
1. Is the bezel hard to keep clean or new looking? Some of the ones for sale
appear to look "dirty" or dull compared to the new ones.
2. Are they unpopular? I don't here much about them on here.

Thanks

1. No
2. Less popular than sub, gmt, daytona. Blue dial is quite nice.

1. I had mine 116622 for 4 years, the bezel looked close to new and was not hard to keep clean nor did it look dull.

2. It's a beautiful watch but not as popular as a few of the other sports watches from what I see on the boards and the resale value.

I've never seen it more than once or twice in the wild. Is that just me?

Please don't ever polish it...! You can re-sandblast it at a quality AD pretty cheap...

I was wondering the same thing - when I talk to people about getting a YM they always suggest they will look terrible within a couple of years and that it should be completely avoided? (I understand about resell and im relaxed about that).

I would like them more if the bezel wasn't as big in relation to the dial. I do like that blue dial.

i have one and i will tell you the all platinum dial has a "luster" that is very appealing. quite different than any other sport model rolex. i prefer this case to the "supercase" of my hulk and batman frankly. good luck!

I bought my wife a midsize YM 8 years ago and she's worn it virtually every day since.

Granted, she does take care of it and knows to watch the bezel, but have a look at this after 8 years wear.

I'd say with a bit of respect, you can keep a YM looking lovely, and it's a lovely looking watch

Yes the case feels similar to the DJ41 and is one of the main reasons I am considering it. I still wanting to try on a DJ41, fluted, Blue, on an oyster band.

The bezel looks a little yellowed or tarnished around 12, 1, 2 o'clock or is that just the lighting?

I'm a big fan of most things yacht master. Blue, platinum etc. I think they are super nice.

Slightly, but compared to some that look awful, I think it looks really good.

Actually, the yellowing was the lighting, I'll try and take a better one. The bezel is actually in pretty great shape.

That's it in different light. You see a few more marks at that lighting but it's so close up.

The shadow between 30 and 40 is my reflection lol

Thanks for your input. For being 8 years old and a daily wearer it still look pretty good. Thanks again for your help in making my decision.

Pleasure Tom.

I suppose it comes down to how you'd look after it.

Good luck.
