Missing my Polar Explorer
I ran into a guy at the dog park yesterday and he and I struck up a watch conversation. He was wearing a new Polar Explorer he picked up recently. Having parted with mine not too long ago, l'm trying to remember why I traded it for another watch. I think maybe I wanted the other watch more, that maybe the Explorer sat a bit big on my wrist, whatever; the typical rationalizations I use when I want a new watch that requires a trade. In any event, I am now missing my Polar Explorer. Sigh... I just can't have them all!

Happened to me before with a couple other watches. One of them, I just waited until I could afford it and bought another just like it. Guess what? After I had it a while, I noticed that the same things bothered me that bothered me in the first one, so I ended up flipping it - again. It could go either way. BTW, the watch I am talking about is an Omega Speedmaster, the Moonwatch.

It happens to the best of us. Sold a 116600 and had to rush to buy another one after they discontinued it. Now I'm never letting it go. Sold a Speedmaster Professional and now it's also a keeper. I'm currently contemplating selling a BLNR, now I'm trying to figure out if I'll regret it.

I just started wearing mine after not wearing for a long while and definitely know what you mean about missing it. I'm thinking my polar will be back in the regular rotation. Love it for a travel watch, which is what I usually use it for.

If your not sure about it, try putting it away for a couple of months rather than selling it. You may find that when you do go back to it after a short break you fall in love with it all over again. I did exactly the same with one of my Seamaster's that I hadn't worn in a while. Now it's back in rotation as a daily wearer with a couple of other old favorites and I am SO glad I didn't let it go. I know the feeling. I sold my Datejust 116334 a few years back and instantly regretted it. I have just re-bought the same model!! Some watches get under your skin - especially the ones you sell because you think you won't miss them.

The 216570 was my first new 6-digit Rolex. Sold it - but bought back the exact watch almost one year later. And here it is.

I did the same with the older version red hand. I miss it now!
I love the bigger size but I just with the carried the thin red hand forward and not the fat orange one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have been there and bought some back and other I have moved on from. I typically will part with a watch so that I can get something that I want more but as soon as it arrives I miss what I gave up. Buy it back. They are not expensive, either new or used.

I can relate. It's been a while since I parted with my Polar 216570 but really missing it lately. A trip to the AD may be in order.

Whenever I see a great picture of the 216570 it makes me miss mine too. I let it go after a year because it was simply too big for me and will not get another one.

I have lots of watches, but this could easily be my only one and I'd be happy with it.

I understand...
Sold mine to fund a reverso, then bought it back because it was the MOST versatile watch I own...
