Luminova question
I thought I recall reading that in the late production T -<25 dials that Luminova was actually applied and not tritium. So late model U serial number with T-<25 on the dial but with Luminova paint on the markers?

Its possible as Rolex were using up the old dials and it's very doubtful if Tritium dial would have any lume glow today. If dial has quite strong lume it will be luminover the change was from 1998 and U serials ran from 1997 well into 1998.

Here's my U4xxxxx serial 16710 with luminover markers on a T<25-marked dial. It was originally sold in mid-1998.

I had a T serial GMT Master 16700 that I bought new in '98. After about a month, the tritium started to flake, and RSC NY replaced the dial and hands with ones containing Luminova. The bottom of the replacement dial said "T<25". So, yes, Rolex was using up existing dials by applying Luminova to them at that time.

I had one on an EXP II.
It was originally a black dial with Tritium(T serial 1997) which had virtually no lume left. I searched high and low for a replacement white T<25 dial and when I finally sourced one I was somewhat delighted to discover it was actually Luminova I think the transition period was around 1998. |

That's a beauty. I have a U78**** with SWISS Luminova dial, so as a U4***** that must be one of very last T25 dials to be filled with Luminova before the SWISS marking took over

Both my Swiss only dial GMT circa 1998/1999 are with luminova I supposed. This is before they change to Super luminova.
