Can't decide. Help!
I've been thinking of getting an AP ROO Rubberclad Rose Gold for at least a couple of years. But Everytime when I'm about to strike, I ended up being drawn into a PP Nautilus and Aquanaut.
I still like that RG and black rubber combination a lot. But I'm always worried about the Rubberclad will worn off and look really crappy. I like my watches in top-notch condition, minimal scratches and zero dings. What do you guys think bout the rubberclad bezel? Do you guys have any bad experiences with maintaining that watch? Had mine for a few years now. Wear it 3-4 days a week. Love it.
Bezel is still perfect.

I say go for it...Like any watch, you can always get it refinished if it gets dinged up badly

I sold my rose gold rubberclad last year, I owned it from new and I kept it for 5 years. It is a great watch and a true classic Offshore but for me the bezel is the problem as it eventually goes shiny no matter how careful you are. If you buy the watch then factor in the cost of a new bezel every two - three years and if you're happy with that then you'll love the watch. A new bezel is £600 but AP service the watch at the same time. Mine worked out after everything at around £1100 and it took about 3 weeks. When the rubber is new and has the matt finish and sharp edges the watch is great looking but some of the examples you see for sale with really shiny and chipped and rounded edges look terrible. One thing to consider. AP will replace the rubber bezel for a ceramic one for £1700. I didn't do this as I new I might sell it and the company I planned to sell it through said they wouldn't want to buy it with a ceramic bezel as it would no longer be original. If you Google rubberclad with ceramic bezel it should show you images. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

AshAP,
It does look good with the ceramic bezel, however... I would never change mine. I like the rubber. IMHO it makes it "special". Another thing is that underneath the Rubber, the bezel itself is Rose gold. Which is pretty darn awesome IMHO. I mean how crazy is it to cover Rose Gold with Rubber? I take Gold over Ceramic all day long. I can't say mine has gotten shiny. And I'm not pampering it. Mine is a 2011, and with my use I can't see myself changing the Rubber of the bezel for another 5-6 years of use.

You're right! The OP was looking for opinions from owners and not everyone knows about the ceramic bezel option. I agree with you 100% because I love the crazy fact that the gold is covered with rubber. You're lucky that you've managed to keep yours looking so good, it's a great watch and I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow, never knew AP had a ceramic option for the 42mm roos! That looks great!

Yes unfortunately they do keep the gold bezel. I wouldn't like the quote to re fit the gold bezel if you change your mind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It looks great with the ceramic bezel, but as others have said, it sounds absurd that you need to pay 1700 GBP on top of trading in the gold bezel. As much as I like ceramic bezels, the Rubberclad is a classic of the RO collection and I wouldn't change it if I owned one. |

When I changed my bezel the £600 was described as a discounted price because AP accept that the rubber needs replacing every few years to keep the watch looking good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice change but not sure I would give up the gold bezel, you should be allowed to retain it.

Which other 42mm (apart from this, the Ceramic diver and Trulli) have or can have ceramic bezels?
