Tissot PRC 200

I have just seen a you tube of this watch and have taken a shine to it.
What does the forum think before I buy one.

Which model? If it's the quartz version, be careful where you source it as this is one of the most counterfeited watches around.

I'm guessing it's more likely the automatic version as watch enthusiasts don't tend to get excited by quartz. The Auto model is fairly tall at 16-17mm from memory which may be too tall for some. It also looks better on the bracelet for this reason, the endlinks help mask the height.

The movement has plastic in it which seems to upset some people as you can see it through the display back. There are plastic mountings between the movement plates and the escapement is also plastic (escape wheel and pallet fork).

Overall a nice watch and a bargain on the grey market.

I have a Tissot PR 100. My first new auto. I beat the ever living hell out of that watch and it still works to this day. Purchased in 1998 or 99 in NYC. I had a Rolex GMT at a young age but only allowed to wear it on certain occasions when my parents were there.

I love it. I wore a prc 200 for about 3 years till the watch bug bit me. It got loads of compliments. More than my sub, Nautilus or Daytona combined!

PRC-200 is a classic. I've always wanted one but never bought one for some reason.

My first Swiss watch was a Tissot PRC100 Quartz which I wore for years until a so called jeweler broke it while changing a battery. With a broken quartz of this sort they just switch the movements and it looks as good as ever. While I was waiting for it to come back I got a Tudor Black Bay and soon a Rolex DJ and a Grand Seiko and my poor Tissot now is used only if another watch is in the shop. It was, and remains a nice looking watch however and was a first access into wearing a watch after many years and the price was very good. Some of the automatic Tissots look nice

And yes this is exactly it, before coming here I knew diddly squat about watches, knew the brands and other things, but not much, now not one of the experts, but kno much more

Wow!! You're the first one with a PR 100 I know!! Not many of them.
Was my first auto diver and still working like first day.

I have had the quartz version of this for about 10 years now. Great little watch and has been reasonably reliable apart from some issues with the end links and bar that connects the bracelet to the lugs (Tissot did fix it quickly).

Still wear it occasionally when but not as much as I used to.

It seems I have an exactly same watch as you from approximately same year, maybe a few year older. It's been shock damaged but repaired recently . Runs +20+30 s/d. What accuracy do you get?

I had a prc200 for many years, but was never really part of my rotation. I ended up selling it since it was never worn.

Mine is from 96 or 97 but not remember well. Last time I wore it (few years ago) was + 5/7 sec/day approximately, I remember because was amazed how perfect was. Yours with +20/30 sec/day says there's something starnge. If I'm not wrong is a 2824 ETA movement and well adjusted can go to +/- 4/6 sec/day.
Probably tomorrow I'll go to the safe and I can test it with the timegrapher. Cheers.

Another master has reviewed the watch and hopefully fixed it now for good. I see less (better) than a 1s/d accuracy now.

It was the first automatic watch I purchased myself. I think I was happier walking out the door with that than my first Rolex.
