Alert Pay?
Does anyone know the truth about AlertPay? I have googled them and there are a lot of comments there that they work with scammers. They have a requirement that you ship goods before they put money into your pocket, and I'm thinking that might be Big Trouble.

anything like that, if not a scam in itself, allows scammers to use the service to steal from buyers/sellers. Never heard of this exact one but there are many others like it
And please don't use it Dan- Remember there are plenty of legitimate ways to be paid, that we all know about

Christopher: thanks for the good counsel! The 'buyer' is from Nigeria. I know that the U.S. Dept of Justice has a task force set up to counter Nigerian scams. I represent more than a few Nigerians, and they're honorable people, but these guys are something else. The favorite one is that they have 10 million U.S. in a bank and they need someone to help them out with getting it to the U.S. I'm sure there are variants for each country.
Don't worry, no watch is getting shipped anywhere until money is in my account. |

I have had so many offers from Nigeria, just like yours, and also when i sell on ebay people ask me to use these types of payment services from Nigeria (buy safe i think is another one). Also dont use escrow (unless your are confident you know exactly what you are doing). Although it is legitimate there are many fake escrow sites site up by scammers too. P.S there was also a program on the BBC (British Broadcasting Service) just last night about Scammers that live in Nigeria using western union too. Very easy for them to get your money and you dont even realise!!
