Elephant or Grey Ti44

I have been thinking of purchasing the Elephant, but just noticed the Grey titanium piece. I have yet to try on the 44, but I have a 7.25 " wrist so I should be able to pull it off. Any thoughts from you guys as to which is the nicer piece for a grey watch?

love both but the ti 44 has the nicer case design and the nicer strap as i much prefer the rubber to the grey leather. Plus it has a ceramic bezel which looks great and doesn't scratch like a SS bezel.

I personally like the Ti44 more, as that was the one I ended up with. But, both are wonderful.

44 is just an impeccable piece right up there with all of the greatest offshore releases

If you can pull off the 44, the Ti is an easy choice, imo.

Honestly I'd probably get the elephant over the Ti. But you should pay way less for the elephant to justify that. I think the Ti with the grey dial and strap was a mistake. With a black face, and black strap it would be worlds better. Just when people post pictures of just the black strap it's a major improvement.

Definitely the 44Ti! It is the nicest of the 44’s and the grey dial and grey strap combo are tough to beat. The Elephant is nice but not nearly as nice as the 44Ti. Also the weight and comfort of the 44Ti is amazing!

that is subjective for sure. I wouldn't have bought it without a grey dial and strap as i wanted a grey watch for a long time. AP makes enough black dialed watches already IMO. I almost bought an Omega GSOTM when it first came out but I'm really glad I waited as the Ti 44 is far better.

Thanks! Would the Jarno Trulli also be considered a great offshore release in this respect? It seems sharp too and has a grey dial that I seek.

The JT looks fantastic. Personally, I'd not be comfortable with forged carbon for regular wear (though many are)

The 44TI is a great piece and with a 7 1/4 inch wrist you should be able to pull it off with no problem.

Please excuse me for talking my own book, but you may also think about the previous design 44CE with anthracite dial if it's grey that you're after

Now you are making me miss my ceramic. Except it never looked that good in person as it does in your pictures lol.

but see I think for a grey watch the 44 anthracite CE and schumacher are better done. I don't know why, but the Ti just doesn't do it for me. I really think they need to bring back a regular black themes watch. Or at least always have one in the 44mm or 42mm collection.

The schumi is in a different league! It is a stunner and I wish that there were more postings of photos of them (though I expect that many now are locked away in safes and not in regular rotation)

i agree on the Black themes especially in the 42 line up as the new one with the red accents doesn't work for me.

To me the comparison isn't between the new Ti and a Ce or a super rare Schumi, its the new Ti vs the old SS and i think in that head to head the Ti is much better. I like the Ti material but in reality the material isn't the deciding factor for most as it looks so much like SS. So i think the old SS 44 and the new Ti 44 are the most applicable comparisons and in the end its the dial colors which are the biggest factor as far as if you are buying or not.

Wow you are comparing and wondering? The 44 TI kicks the hell out of the elephant any day of the week and especially on Saturdays and Sundays, no comparison, for me it's the coolest ROO of the actual collection, and lf the previous, ok I would pick the TI Schumi over it, but probably only that one...

Also it is perfect on grey strap and for me black strap not an improvement. The grey has perfect contrast much like the dial and case/bezel.

Hard to beat the ceramic bezel of 44 and you are ok with the size... I don't know it is production cost or some other reason but AP must use ceremet bezel more... don't know one person that does't love Trulli or Schumi bezel...

If you are comparing it to that then yes the new Ti is definitely better. The old panda one would have been better if the dial was a true pure white. Not like off-white or cream.
