AP Diver White w/ Titanium Buckle

Hi all, i just recently became a proud owner of an AP 15710ST white and am loving the watch so far. One thing i found perculiar was that i noticed the buckle on my rubber strap indicates "Titane" on the back which i assume means titanium. I thought the divers comes with stainless steel buckles which will say "Acier Inox." And the interesting thing is that my buckle has the polished look on the outer side which looks like SS. anyone with a new white diver also encounter this.

My diver had a SS buckle and my 44 Ti has a Ti buckle. I would say you got the wrong one.

I would also be curious to know where you bought it? AD or grey dealer. New or Used.

Got it from a dealer who sourced it from an Authorized Retailer. I'm comfortable with the authenticity - came with box, papers, warranty dated by the retailer, everything matches. I'm just curious if anyone else has a titanium buckle with a polished look on one side and matte finish on the other.

No one should have that. Mismatched metals is a mistake. Call APSC and see what they have to say.

Im not questioning authenticity but it is a mistake. Your "dealer" either missed it before selling to you or did something strange. Either way thats the risk you take not buying from an AD in person.

Also, thats the way a Ti buckle is supposed to look as far as polished on one side and not polished on the underside. However my Ti buckle has the word "Titane" in the middle not on the side.

Thanks SC11, I've been trying to find a pic of the buckle but no success.

Tyler - yeah I certainly agree that there are certain risks when dealing outside an AD. Maybe they were mixing and matching the black and white straps and put the wrong on back on the diver or something--who knows.

But honestly I don't mind the TI buckle, don't they cost most?

what watch is it from. Its not from a 44 right?

I have no idea if a diver and 44 buckles are interchangeable or not as I'm not sure what the strap widths are.

Too bad they didn't accidentally put a platinum buckle on it

I don’t know but this site was suggested to me a while back as being legit so hence why I stated may be legit, can’t guarantee it but posted it as it shows the same buckle markings.

Darnit I know right! Oh well, beggars can't be chooser I guess lol.

And I think the 24mm buckle fits both the diver and 44mm straps

yeah I'm just speaking generally if diver buckles will fit a 44mm. I know a diver strap takes a wider buckle than a hornback. Just not sure with diver strap to a 44 strap.

Another picture search does appear to show the diver tangs have this layout but with it being AP on the left and acier inox on the right.

Could this be a tang off a Ce/FC diver as they use Ti tangs?

Did they? If so that might explain it as there are no 42mm Ti watches in the current collection. That is if a 44mm Ti buckle doesn't fit. If it does then i would bet its from the 44 Ti.

Im more interested in where it came from not the fact the OP has the wrong buckle.

Haha same here. I'll contact my guy and see if he can find out who is missing a TI buckle
