Porsche passport

Interesting and bold idea. Im sure the "ballers" will be all over this thoughts?
http://press.porsche.com/news/release.php?id=1050

"This month-to-month subscription program offers frequent vehicle exchanges, unrestricted mileage, and on-demand access for up to 22 different Porsche models. In a new relationship with Clutch Technologies, LLC, Porsche Passport will conduct its pilot program in metro Atlanta, which is home to both companies."

"Porsche Passport provides white-glove vehicle delivery in metro Atlanta through two membership plans - "Launch" and "Accelerate."

"Launch": Includes on-demand access to eight model variants such as the 718 Boxster and Cayman S, as well as the Macan S and Cayenne, for a monthly fee of $2,000.
"Accelerate": Includes on-demand access to 22 model variants such as the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the Panamera 4S sports sedan, the Macan GTS and Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUVs, in addition to the vehicles offered in the "Launch" package, for a monthly fee of $3,000."

LOL, if I was not married I would do this in a second...Little too rich a monthly for me with the wife only working part time and minimal income.

Super cool idea for those with extra disposable income.

its a great plan.

if you buy, then change often, you're just spreading out depreciation and you have access to a wide stable in the same msrp-ish bracket. you also don't need 2 or 3 cars and the insurance, maintenance etc that goes with it.

It’s a great idea and younger generations with high incomes have no interest in owning anything.

It's a cool concept and nice way to enjoy these vehicles without some of the long term hassle. Not sure I would ever do this though, but it seems like it would be A LOT of fun.

Mmmhhh, certainly cool but a bit expensive I think. A 911 can be leased for ~$1200/m from what I can see. I understand the unlimited mileage and the possibility to access more vehicles but is that worth the premium?

Interesting concept.
I believe Cadillac has a similar program that started this year in certain cities.....there is a thread here somewhere on the topic.

Yet another monthly subscription service. First the media companies: Comcast, Cox, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, CBS All Access and so on. Then the identity theft programs like Lifelock. Then appliance insurance like Home Services.

And this does not include mortgage payments, insurance payments, car payments.

To live well in the modern world you need a large monthly income.

Right...
From the FAQ:

How does Porsche Passport work?

Members use the Porsche Passport app to request their next vehicle, including when and where they would like it delivered. A concierge will deliver the new vehicle, transfer everything over to the new vehicle, and ensure you are all set to go. Flip into a new model as often as you would like. Our goal is to ensure you have the perfect vehicle for any occasion.

What's included in a Porsche Passport subscription?

Every subscription includes rights to a vehicle, insurance and unlimited flips between vehicles. There are no mileage limits. The concierge team delivers hand-detailed vehicles to any location within the service area. We take care of all maintenance and repairs so you can focus on driving.

How does Porsche Passport pick the perfect ride for me?

Think of us as your personal concierge service. Tell us about your needs and we will match them with the perfect ride. Road trip? Special date night? We've got you covered.

How does insurance work?

Insurance is included with all Porsche Passport subscriptions. All approved drivers are covered by the Porsche Passport insurance policy. Policy highlights:

$1,000 deductible
$1,000,000 liability coverage (combined single limit)
$300,000 uninsured motorist (combined)
$2,000 medical payments to offset any out of pocket or deductible costs
How long can I keep each vehicle?

As long as you want!

There are no restrictions on how long or how short your flips can be. Occasionally, we will ask for vehicles back to do routine tasks like preventive maintenance. However, at worst, we will flip you into a vehicle that is similar to the one you have.

Should I ever get divorced I might jump right on that although for 2K a month it would be a tough choice between that or keeping a hooker on retainer

I see, obviously there is still a premium but it does not look as bad when you consider some of the perks.

When they say 'a new vehicle' do they mean a brand new car!?

New as in “new to you”. The fleet will be rotated based upon demand. In the roll-out I expect all will be BNIB and then rotation might begin. There is a level above the $2000/mo plan that expands the model choices, too.

Who needs access to a whole fleet when you could just go hardcore and drive a GT3 RS every single day???!

Sounds fun! Now where’s that extra $3000 a month I had lying around...

No depreciation
No maintenance
No ad valorem or sales tax (a killer if you buy cars frequently)
Insurance included

Indeed! Everyone's got their hands in our pockets, it can add up very quickly.

Although I won't be doing it I'm certainly starting to warm up to the idea bit more. For these types of cars it seems like a good alternative for some, no doubt.

For someone who can't decide on one vehicle but can't justify buying an entire fleet this is perfect. These vehicles are all about the experience anyway, at least at this stage of their life.

Makes sense for some people. I’d rather finance my own 991 gts with 3k per month would only take a few years. Of course this is just my needs.
