Would be cool if they could incorporate some sort of solar charging system into the boat for low power emergency operation if needed or just to extend the range a bit.

Yes. It’s the first boat announced from Hinkley with the technology.. I don’t know what Hinckley will do in the future on that front. I do know that Duetz/Torqeedo offers alternative solar charging, as well, on its motors.
