New M Series Bluesy with rehaut?
I just was texting with my AD, who has very recently received from Rolex a TT Bluesy, M series that does not have the rehaut. Shouldn't all of these 16613's have this? I know that the GV has it.
Please don't come down to hard on me. |

Yes, all M's should have it; my Z990XXX 16613 has it.

I'm going to get absolutely hammered here, but the "Bluesy" looks cheesy to me. Looks like a cheap Invicta or something. I've seen tons of them on Navy guys and seems like most of the pilots, etc. say things like, "who's Grandpa died and left you that?".
If you want a sub --- you want a tool watch. You want a SS model with all brushed SS links (although solid links would be a great upgrade). I know there will be lots of those that disagree, but I really think the reason Rolex decided to go another direction with the new WG blue dial / blue bezel sub was because there are so many that think the "bluesy" is tired. The '80's are calling and want their Rolex (sort of) back. |

Personally I would like the old rehaut. Who wants ROLEXROLEXROLEX written over their watch. Not me, anyway. Although the Blusey is very popular I also think it's a bit Invicta looking, which is why I chose the black dial.

my gmt2c rehaut is branded and i don't even notice it when i an wearing it. for the life of me i don't understand why people have a problem with it. if you don't notice it how can it look bad? i don't carry around a 10x and show my watch to people with it.

If you think the rehaute text is bad, look at the DSSD!

Yup, totally agree. In fact I know of many Rolex fans who actually like having the inscription around the dial, even though it's mostly invisible, because it's a new innovation and it gives them the feeling of owning something new and different.

But you are correct. cos when I get tired of my plain old SS stuff, I slum it with this one. PS. IMO all 'M' TT blue subs should have the rehaute.

Gotta say it, i agree with Mark. I was in the market for a bluesy recently until i tried one on. It was an anti-climax, the iconic watch looked so cheap on my wrist, i tried on the Sea-Dweller 4000 too it looked so much better. Needlesss to say i plumped for the classic SD. I still have an itch for a two tone sports watch, will have to try the black sub the blue is a no no for me. Sorry in advance to all those proud Bluesy owners out there, its still a great Rolex just not my cup of tea!
Lol, back to the point. All of the "M" i have seen have the RBR rehaut.

Wow, it's Bluesy-bashing day on TRF!
Lets not forget, they STILL outsell the black dial 16613 3:1 LOVE mine!

Used to get a lot of comments back when I had a TT blue sub, I think it had more bling than my DD. It is a good watch, just did not like the stamped metal clasp on such a great piece of jewelery. On the SS subs, functional is okay. But when you add gold or any other type of precious metal it becomes more than a tool watch and derserves to be refined, I just felt the clasp felt out of place.
Now if they upgraded the clasp it would be a great watch, but I'm sure the price would be in the stratosphere. |

I'm quite happy with my loud-mouth, new money, stuck in the 80's, look at me 16613. You guys are getting a little heavy handed with your quips. There are a lot of people here who own blue 16613 and while you might not like them, can we be civil about it? thanks

This is a problem that Rolex has being one of the best. They come out with a real kick-A#AS watch; but very soon, everyone copies it. Then with soooo many copies look-a-likes, it starts to cheapen the fantastic original.
ARGH...to copies.

I am surprised Campo
The "V" serial 16613's are out with an engraved chapter ring,
all the "M" 16613's have it... even the late "Z"s have it from a year ago as well. I do not understand how come your AD has just received "a brand new" watch without the engraved chapter ring..?? Perhaps Rolex is now using the Gregorian Calendar..???... |
